The POD hotel is very well located on Camps Bay beach. It is run by very helpful cool young people. Our room was spacious with nice walk in shower. The mini bar was stocked daily and although we drank our bottle of wine each day we were not charged. How about that? Breakfast was very good served up by very friendly staff. Our balcony gave us views of the beach and the twelve apostles. Five nights was not enough.

Room Tip: Clicked spa inadvertently. Room three gave us view over beach and mountains behind.

Dear Trevor

Thank you for taking the time to leave such kind feedback following your stay at POD Camps Bay.

The management team are thrilled to hear that you felt that they were a very helpful and cool bunch of people. I have to admit that the team currently in place at POD has to be the best that I have had the privilege of working with in over 15 years in the hotel industry.

I am glad that you liked the complimentary mini bar offering and that you made the most of the Diemersdal Sauvignon Blanc that we replenish daily.

Thank you for the praise on the breakfast, the room and the fantastic views from your balcony.

We hope to welcome you back to POD in the not too distant future.

Warm regards,

Brendan Boyle

Myself and my new wife Allison stayed in the POD Camps Bay for 4 nights in September as part of our Honeymoon.
I'll try keep this as brief as possible;
1. The location is stunning. Camps Bay is the nicest area in Cape Town and the hotel overlooks the beach in Camps Bay. Couldn't have asked for a better location. Less than 10 minutes in a taxi to the centre of Cape Town for all that it offers. On our balcony if you looked to the right you had the sea and on the left table mountain....perfect.
2. Staff were brilliant. Nick, the owner, and his staff couldn't have done more to make us more welcome. Champagne on arrival, always friendly and met us with a smile all the time, they organised and booked trips for us, the breakfasts they cooked up were the best we had the whole way through South Africa (nicest omelette I've ever had!).
3. Camps Bay is a lovely little cove with loads of nice restaurants and bars. Looking back if I went again I'd actually spend more evenings in it's bars and restaurants than going into the centre of the city.
4. The rooms were very comfortable and well maintained. Allison got free hot chocolate on request so she was thrilled with that!

Overall it's just a brilliant hotel. We're going back to Cape Town next October and I will 100% be staying here again. I normally don't bother leaving trip advisor reviews but this place deserves all the success it will get.

This was a beautiful experience albeit short. It was a great pity my wife and i only had a one day stay due to other commitments. We definitely are coming back to explore further the beautiful experience you have to offer. The professional service and environment is worth a second visit if not more.

Room Tip: Rooms on the south side are quitter if you want some quietness.

Dear Guest

Thank you for posting a review about your recent stay at POD Camps Bay on Tripadvisor.

I am delighted to hear that you enjoyed your time with us. It is such a pity that you only stayed for a night as one only gets into holiday mode on the 2nd day...

Thanks for the commendations on the POD environment as well as the service standards at our hotel.

Stayed at POD for 3 nights in October. This is a very stylishly designed and decorated hotel with a very modern and minimalist feel. We had booked a standard double but were upgraded to a premium room (hotel was quiet and there was some minor repairs going on).

We arrived at around 2pm, warmly welcomed by Brendan and a couple of his staff and were invited to relax at the lounge with a nice cold beer while we were checked in.

When we were ready, Brendan showed us to and around our room - large open plan with great view out over the beach and sea. Fantastic facilities in the room including free mini bar, nespresso machine, and great rain shower in bathroom.

The staff were extremely helpful, knowledgeable and friendly - always checking if you wanted something else to drink in the lounge, helping us book a hire car and providing free GPS for our tours down the cape and giving great tips on where to eat locally.

the hotel is located just off the main beachfront at the north end of Camps bay with all the shops, cafes and restaurants within easy walking distance. The hotel has a great driver and taxi service which we only used to take us into Cape Town and get a hire car, but you can hire him out for a day to do sightseeing and shopping.

Overall, the hotel and staff were fantastic. Our only issue was the lack of room service menu - the kitchen only serves breakfast. A limited menu perhaps provided by a local restaurant delivery service would have been great for the one night we were late back and too tired to venture out in the Camps Bay wind.

Dear Grant

Thank you for taking the tie to write such a comprehensive review about your recent stay at POD Camps Bay.

I am elated to hear that you had a good time at our property and would like to thank you for your commendations on the rooms, amenities and service offering. I am glad to hear that you made use of the value adds such as the Nespresso machine and the complimentary mini bar.

I have noted your comment about the lack of having a food offering in the afternoons and evenings and we have forged relationships with nearby restaurants should guests prefer to eat in. Perhaps this should have been better communicated to you, my sincere apologies.

Warm regards,

Brendan Boyle

If an exclusive trendy stylish boutique hotel is what you are looking for then the Pod is just the ticket. The rooms are stunning and the location and views spectacular.

The breakfast and service left a bit to be desired as was the noisy traffic and construction in the morning.

I still would recommend this place for a very trendy stylish central get away.

Dear "Reviewer"

Thank you for taking the time to post a review about your stay at POD Camps Bay.

I am delighted to hear that you enjoyed our prime location as well as our modern and stylish rooms.

I am sorry to hear that the outside construction noise affected your stay and wish that we had more control of the neighbours work schedule. Thankfully their building is virtually complete and we have not had a noise issue for months.

I would like to find out what your disappointments were with regards to the service and the breakfast. I value constructive criticism and would appreciate it if you would get in contact with me at brendan@pod.co.za

We have considerably refined our product offering since your stay 11 months ago and we hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back to POD the next time you travel to Cape Town.

Warm regards,

Brendan Boyle
