Owner description: Just up Kloof Nek Road from the center of town is this thriving beach community. Plenty of trendy nightclubs, shops and cafes bring diners and shoppers, while tranquil seas and fine white sand draw sun worshippers and swimmers.

“Beautiful beach”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 November 2013

It was ... against all warnings.... not windy at all, even in late afternoon. Amazing light as the sun went down.

“Camps Bay beach - Blue Flag status”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 November 2013

I created the original strategy for Blue Flag beaches and estuaries back in the late 1990s. Some 16 years later, we have 41 Blue Flag beaches in South Africa.

The aspects and value of BFs : These add to health and safety with water and environmental monitoring , and with environmental educational campaigns featuring the local habitat, it easy to see why BF works so well for sustainable, yet sensitive monitoring .

Camps Bay has always been a favourite except when the south easter blows viciously. it is great for walking on, has remarkable views and even better sunsets ! A photographer's dream.

“Terrific”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 November 2013

Beautiful. It's even pleasant when the weather's chilly. Several great restaurants along the beach as well. If you don't have a hotel room here, you should at least make a trip for lunch.

“Great sand but cold water”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 November 2013

It was nice to walk around on. The sand was better than what we had at the Shandrani in Mauritius. But the water was freezing. I wouldn't put this on your list of places you must be. Restaurants lining the beach were the better ones in the area I believe and we ate at a few so try those.

“A Gorgeous Beach Amount Mountains...A Must...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 November 2013

This beach is a cross between South Beach-Miami, Rio de Janeiro-Brazil, and Big Sur-California.
This is definitely worth a visit for a day or two while in Cape Town. This is a very clean beach with big waves, and the sea side restaurants, while can be pricey, are good. Rent an umbrella for R30 / $3 US and grab a beer plus a burger at Barocca's outdoor garden - great for people watching and one of the cheaper places to grab a bite.
