Owner description: Just up Kloof Nek Road from the center of town is this thriving beach community. Plenty of trendy nightclubs, shops and cafes bring diners and shoppers, while tranquil seas and fine white sand draw sun worshippers and swimmers.

Simply a beautiful beach location and my all time favourite breakfast location with dozens of great open air eating places just steps from the pristine sands and in the shadow of the mountains behind.
A word of warning however, before you run into the beautiful blue sea, test the water!!! it's on the Atlantic and not that far to Antarctica so the water is cold enough to stop your heart if you're not ready for it!!
Hire a deck chair, relax in the sun or maybe have a massage on the beach and let the uninformed do the diving in and running straight back out!
Whatever you do though, don't miss the opportunity to visit Camps Bay if you are in Cape Town.

Thank Richard B

Lovely beach with a pleasant vibe. Great restaurant at Umi and enjoyed Caprice Bar. We saw a shark fin which was terribly exciting! Wasn't planning on going swimming anyway.
The proprieters must get control of the various people begging for money at the beachside bars though and I was very worried about the little kids dancing for money in the busy beach road. Almost saw one get knocked down. This drumming was slightly annoying after a while when you are trying to relax - eating at the restaurants.

Great beach to walk during sunset. You can either walk on the boulevard or directly on the beach with its wonderful, fine sand.

Unsurpassed views with the sea on the one side and the beautiful mountain on the other.

Beach chairs & umbrella bit pricy but otherwise the best beach to sun tan! Atlantic ocean so dont expect to much swimming but good enough to cool down from the sun.

My husband and I spent the afternoon on the beach whilst staying in Cape Town.
Easy to drive out from Cape Town and we found no problems parking our car in the side streets just across from the beach. It was a glorious hot and sunny day, we visited in early March and the temperature was in the 80's and a nice clear day.
Camps bay has a lovely long and white sandy beach and was very clean, the beach is large so you don't feel over crowded at all, can rent sun loungers and umbrellas if required.
We had a great few relaxing hours, the sea is as too be expected cold! But refreshing after lots of sun.
Quite a few street traders moving around so if you want to buy any local bits i.e. statues, local paintings etc you have every opportunity, ice creams, cold drinks being offered on the beach too. Friendly local people and very polite even if you don't want to buy anything and they just move on.

We loved the view from the beach, it's certainly a beach in the world with fantastic views all around it! - The Twelve Apostles, The Lion Head, Table Mountain... Amazing.....
The beautiful blue sky shining down on the mountains, the palm trees and the white sands.
Be sure to wear strong sunscreen as the sun rays are strong.
Camps Bay itself is a pretty place with a great atmosphere, lots of restaurants, bars etc.
Great for eating al fresco and taking in the views and the people by the promenade.
It's a vibrant place and has a nice feel about it. We were glad we spent some time there.
Easy drive back to Cape Town.
Worth a visit for sure.
