On a recent trip to St Helena on the RMS I stayed at 51 on Camps Bay upon flying in to Capetown from UK. My stay was so enjoyable I booked up to stay again upon my return. Large rooms, well furnished and with great views out to sea and the setting sun. Staff couldn't be more helpful. Enjoy this while the £ is so good against the ZAR!

Your advice and help to plan our time in Cape Town were perfect.
We will recommend this guethouse to everyone who will visit Cape Town.

My Husband and I stayed at 51 on Camps Bay for 5 nights at the beginning of our 2 weeks holiday in the Western Cape. The accommodation was lovely and the welcome from Corrie and his subsequent help and assistance recommending and booking places to visit and eat was just what we had wanted and why we opted to stay in a guest house rather than rent an apartment. Corrie definitely 'goes that extra mile' to ensure that you have a pleasant stay and when we had a hiccup with an email received from a 4 star hotel we had booked he offered to help us and sorted out a top class Guest House in Hermanus and a refund from the Hotel.

51 on Camps Bay is within perfect walking distance of Camps Bay. I would certainly highly recommend it to friends and like the other reviewer, I too originally read about it in the Guardian article and would agree that it's a perfect place to stay.

Once again I can't thank Corrie enough for his help.

My wife and I began our South Africa trip in Cape Town at the beginning of November, staying at 51 on Camps for 3 nights in the honeymoon suite, it was the perfect way to start our vacation. I had found 51 on camps through the Guardian article that mentions it as a top 10 place to stay in Cape Town, and I could not agree more. The location is amazing with an incredible view of the bay right from your front porch- we watched the sunset there every night. The house is less than 0.5 miles from the beach and a whole host of really good, not too expensive restaurants (highly recommend Codfather's and a tapas bar). It is conveniently located near table mountain and is on the way down to Cape of Good Hope so perfect for day trips. One of the best parts about 51 on Camps is the manager, Cory, who made our stay absolutely perfect. We have stayed at 5 star resorts in other parts of the world and did not have this level of personal attention to detail and help planning our days. The breakfast was great, made to order. And the best part about all of it is the price- a place like this in the US or Europe could easily go for upwards of $400 US a night, so it is a really great deal. Thank you to 51 on Camps for starting off our vacation on the right foot! We hope to return in the future.

What a pleasure it is to be a returning guest of Merryl at 51 on Camps Bay Guesthouse. The honeymoon suite is what it should be: romantic, stunning views, beautiful interior, champagne, roses.... awesome..
A lovely pool area for chilling and watching the sunset.
Merryl is the perfect host! Always accommodating and friendly.
I highly recommend this establishment.

We spent a week at 51 on Camps Bay and the only negative thing we could find was actually leaving it. Camps Bay is the ideal area to stay in when in Cape Town and 51 on Camps Bay will definitely top your visit. Three rooms, all beautifully decorated, renovated bathrooms, lovely home-made breakfast and most importantly the friendliest service. Definitely as good as any 4star hotel, if not better. Corrie went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and having a great time. He was our friend-travel guide. All his recommendations were spot on! We couldn't have asked for more. We are definitely going back on our next visit and sending our friends!

We stayed here 2 nights in September and really loved the place - we had the 'honeymoon' suite with a great verandah with fantastic views. The room was so well appointed with many thoughtful touches to make us feel so welcome and the bathroom was luxury too! It was such a lovely place to stay to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary and a very short walk away from a great selection of restaurants. Very reasonably priced for the quality of accommodation and service - and lots of helpful advice to make our stay easy and where to go etc. Although we had a hire car we really liked the fact that the stop for the Hop on/Off bus was not far away from the guest house - an easy walk - and so you could leave the car and explore Cape Town and surrounds using the bus which was great value for a couple of days. We will certainly come back! Thank you!
