“Not only the view at Atlantic View that beats all others!”
Reviewed 13 October 2007

My husband and I stayed in the Sunset suite at Atlantic View from the 2nd October as part of our Honeymoon.

At all times during our stay we found we were looked after by the most amazing team of staff - Greg these guys make your business stand out from the rest - they are all worth their weight in Gold!

The decor throughout the property was stunning, with the Sunset suite having a real mix of modern African and American original art - and also natures own art in the views from the room, the sofa, the bed and even the shower of sunets over Camps Bay.

I could wax lyrical about the the food; service; ambience etc - all were above and beyond any 5 star. It was however the attention to detail which will make Atlantic View memorable for us - in particular the beautiful bottle of Cap Classic which was chilling for us, one evening on our return from a day out - with a shower of fresh red rose petals leading from the deck, into our room and up onto the bed area where the bottle was.

Sundowners in the company of Ranier (sp) and a variety of other guests were relaxed and fun and provided a great way to taste Cape wines whilst hearing about other guests recomendations for dinner etc.

In summary - a fabulous place to stay during your trip to Cape Town, with all the things we miss in chain hotels - at Atlantic View guests really are number 1.

Stayed three nights here and it was fantastic. Fortunately we got upgraded so that may bias my opinion slightly but it was till good. We also got a 'discounted rate' as it was off peak season.

There was plenty attention to detail and it was very relaxing. The whole property was clean, tidy and modern and also has great views.

Camps bay is excellent and only 5 minutes away by taxi, you probably wouldn't walk it.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Atlanticview for 4 days in June. The original room we reserved was being "spruced up" so we were upgraded to a suite at no extra charge. The bathroom in our suite was larger than some hotel rooms! The guesthouse is to die for gorgeous and the view is unbelievable. We saw three whales from our deck! Attention is paid to every last detail. I would love to go back.

We actually were expecting a hotel but this is more like a 6 star guesthouse.

Upside: Great rooms, friendly staff, great breakfast, free sunset-drinkies with little amuse-bouches every evening.
Beautiful views from the deck area.

Downside: A bit up on the hill so going out without car/taxi isn't really an option.

Strange: Receptionist had misbooked something and offered to make up for it by taking us down to camps bay in her own car.
On departure we found this service on our bill at twice the rate a taxi would charge...

From the first on-line contact with Gregg to departing on the final day of the visit, the message coming out loud and clear was one of efficient, friendly and professional attention to detail where the guest is made to feel discretely pampered.

Gregg and Rainer set high standards and from the first glimpse of Atlanticview you realise that the venue has been carefully, tastefully and thoughtfully been put together, with exquisite décor and subtle lighting effects. The services lavished on the guests extends and enhances this impression.

Regardless of which individual and unique room or suite you stay in, you have spectacular mountain and sea views (the view from the infinity pool is outstanding!)

The staff are friendly, non intrusive and yet quick to address your needs. This location successfully managed to feel more like a home than a hotel.

If you like food and wine then the guys here are really hooked up with the local scene and apart from having really great contacts to get you booked in wherever you want. The staff regularly visit the venues and can give first hand assessments of the current state of the local dining.

As readers may have gathered the sundowner get together provides an opportunity to meet the other guests and exchange experiences but also to get some damn fine wine sampled and taste some cracking nibbles.

Whether you want to just crash out and stay in and around the Camps Bay area or to use this as a base for wider exploration, you will be very hard pressed to beat this place. Stunning.

The Atlanticview was handsdown WONDERFUL. The location, view, accommodations all top notch. Worth the extra expense as the attention you receive from the staff (actually, new friends) goes beyond one's expectations. The rooms are all beautiful and comfortable. One could feel right at home the minute you walk in the door. Always a warm greeting whether you were leaving or coming in. From the made to order breakfast to the evening cocktails attention to little details is a part of the Atlanticview experience. As a wine lover, my friends at the Atlanticview hooked us up! We never went thirsty, nor hungry! The staff was very knowlegable of the places to go and the best way to get there. Dinner recommendations - outstanding. With a little help we were able to get into all the restaurants we wanted with little or no wait! Despite the cool and at times rainy conditions, we had a blast at the Atlanticview. Would definitely return and would highly recommend the inn. They won't disappoint you and you'll probably make some new friends. We did!

This hotel was one of the best hotels we have stayed in. The views were outstanding, especially sitting in the lounge/bar area, sipping wine while the sun sets. The staff were very friendly and helpful and recommended some great restaurants in Camps Bay. Every morning we woke up to views of the sea and then sat on our balcony having breakfast.

I highly recommend this hotel and look forward to returning.
