“Royal treatment South African style!!!”
Reviewed 14 May 2012

After spending 5 days in the bush it was nice to arrive in Cape town! We were greeted by Atlantic View staff Mansur and Wesley with two cars; a range rover and a mercedes. We loaded both cars with luggage and headed to the Atlantic View. Along the route we were schooled on the Shanty Towns (Townships), Table Mountain (which is massive btw) and local demographics ie. population, salaries, government etc.

The Atlantic View, located in Camps Bay, sits on a hillside at the foot of Table Mountain. From the moment we walked into the lounge to check in we knew we had found a gem! You literally feel like you are walking into your own place that you "wished" you owned in South Africa. Its as if the entire staff had been waiting for YOU to come HOME! The staff was more than accommodating, greeting you with fresh cocktails and warm smiles. Check-in was seamless and delightful -we received a full presentation of our accommodations and a review of our upcoming itinerary. The staff was professional, knowledgeable, courteous and always made sure we were comfortable!

The rooms were, well let's just say...stunning! We were blown away by the cleanliness and warmth and I must say, no detail was left unturned by Greg and his design team. Well thought out large oversized bathrooms, designer mini kitchens w/microwave, mini bar & refrigerator, ipod docks, steamers, great audio/visual equipment, huge bed, comfortable oversized furniture, soft beautiful linens, the artwork, statues/scultpures and a deck over looking the Atlanic ocean. 2 infinity pools...do I need to say more???

Breakfast was a work-of-art! A fruit, cheese, juice, coffee and bread platter was delivered to our door every morning! The kitchen also took request for hot food.

Cocktail hour:

Cocktail hour was "smart" and provides an excellent way to meet other travelers and exchange tour/travel tips. Every evening the staff handled dinner reservations and night life arrangements for us and always dropped us at the coolest places. From Paranga to Green House we were enjoying the local treats and culinary experiences of Camps Bay and surrounding areas.

No matter how many times I say this place was unbelievable, you still need to check-in for yourself!

Room Tip: Doesn't matter at all...ALL of these rooms are unique in their own way.

We were blown away when we arrived at Atlanticview Boutique Hotel. The rooms were spectacularly adorned by a fabulous mix of furniture & accessories to appropriately pull the rooms together making you feel at home. The views from our rooms were breathtakingly gorgeous and the staff was equally impressive. We enjoyed the nightly cocktail hour where we had the opportunity to meet guest and talk about our daily activities. The chef did an amazing job with our hors’dourves and breakfast.
I was presently surprised when we had laundry done and received our clothes back packaged and wrapped so nicely “like gifts”. It’s obvious that the owner “Greg” plays close attention to detail.
We were especially accommodated by Wesley, Mansur, and Jaryd, throughout our stay and we loved their company.
We were so impressed by our stay that we are planning to return in the near future!!!!

Room Tip: The pineapple and infinity suites were amazing...hwr you can't go wrong with any room choice.

Atlanticview Hotel has been a fabulous base for our exploration of CapeTown. The property itself is stunning with a beautiful view across Camps Bay.thedecor is unique, with fascinating art work that delights. Can't say enough about the staff. We hired one of their own staff for tours of the wine region and Cape of Good Hopeand he was knowledgable, friendly, professional and accommodating. We would definitely come back should our travels bring us back to Cape Town.

Check was very friendly and we were given a tour of the property. We were in room 5 which was excellent. The staff and driver service were friendly and efficient. The provision and quality of the breakfast was a bit hit and miss, excellent when we had it on a tray but cooked meal was very slow when we had it in dining room. The sundowner at night was a good way to meet fellow guests and compare itineraries. We felt this was a good hotel in a fantastic location. If we come back to cape town we would stay again.

We stayed at Atlantic view for 6 nights in January. We stayed in room 5 for the first 3 night and then were upgraded to the infinity suite which was amazing! Check in was painless and we were greeted with fresh lemonade which was delicious. The first room was really nice and comfortable with of nice art & furnishings. Breakfast was served in the main lounge along with other guests which is a great way of meeting new people. In the infinity suite, breakfast was delivered to the suite and it was really well presented and was delicious! the infinity suite was amazing and the patio doors took you straight out to the pool.

We used both infinity swimming pools and the views were beautiful, overlooking camps bay. Every evening at 7pm the guests were invited to the lounge/bar area for sun downers and hors d'oeuvres so you had the choice between red & white wine. This was complimentary and was a really nice touch and another way to speak to the other guests as well as the staff. One night we stayed in at the hotel rather than going out and the bar man left us with the remaining wine - we were still supping at 9pm! We also had something to eat from the menu which we just ate in the lounge. The prawn cocktail is massive!

We did a couple of tours with the hotel. We visited the wine lands to do the traditional wine tasting - I was drunk and sober 3 times that day! Definitely worth doing. Big thanks to Mansour, our guide tour and thanks for putting up with my snoring in the back of the car!

All in all we would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone and we will definitely stay the hotel again! Thanks to Greg, Dale and the rest of the team for making our stay very special.

The Priestnal clang x

Hi Greg
We arrived back home yesterday and just wanted to say a big thank you to you and all the team at Atlantic View for such a great week. From the first contact last year to the very last minute we left the service was first class. We appreciated so much the extra care and consideration taken to make our stay so memorable, particularly for our engagement.
The staff at Atlantic View were second to none and you must please pass on again our thanks to them all for the special way we were treated.
The Royal family guests were an interesting distraction but we felt as if we were just as "Royal".
We are sorry that we did not get to meet and thank you in person and hope that we get to see you on our next visit.
You have such a magnificient place at Atlantic View and we can't wait to return.
David & Kate

Room Tip: The Penthouse Suite is spacious and has its own private balcony with an amazing view. A great place...
