We stayed 3 nights in the Glen in July 2014 and were very pleased by the hotel and particularly the friendly staff.
We stayed in a standard room, which was understandly a bit small, but still very good value for money.
The breakfast can be particularly recommended.

The hotel is very near a few stops of the MiCiti bus service, which can be used to get into the city centre or to the airport (with a connection).
However, I think next time I would rent a car for visiting Cape Town as we ended up taking many taxis during our stay. The hotel also has secure parking.

The staff are extremely friendly and helpful - it rained a lot during our stay and there were always umbrellas at the ready.
Highly recommended.

What a beautiful hotel! We popped into The Glen for breakfast and were blown away by the quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff. There was a huge choice of breakfasts including hot dishes from the a la carte menu ( I would recommend the french toast), a huge array of delicious pastries, lots of freshly cut fruit and plenty more.....! We really were overly impressed with the high standard. The staff were so welcoming and friendly and we came away from the hotel smiling and thoroughly satisfied! We will definitely be going there again!

We stumbled upon this outstanding Hotel by default and were so happy we did. On our arrival we were checked in with great friendliness and efficiency and were surprised with the standard of accommocation, which is truly exceptionally for the rate we paid. We were given one of the Loft rooms which had a spectacular view from the balcony and so much character with the slanting ceilings, sisal carpeting and contemporary modern furnishings. The nespresso machine in the room and the divinely scented bathroom range were such a luxurious touch, and much appreciated. The breakfasts were not only a visual treat but also very generous and with great variety. We loved coming home in the evenings to enjoy the sauna bath which was switched on for the guests as an extra spoil! Thanks so much to Phil and his team for spoiling us, our stay at the Glen was just what we needed to renew our spirits and creativity!

Room Tip: All the upstairs rooms have great views

We arrived in Cape Town on the first Saturday in July. Picked up promptly at the airport by a driver hired by The Glen. The staff were great. Attentive to every request. The Penthouse was worth every penny. The food, lunch and dinner primarily, was great. The Glen has a trendy style about it. Absolutely my #1 place to stay in Cape Town.

Room Tip: Spend the extra money and book a stay in the Penthouse. Its awesome

We had an amazing time at the Glen. The staff are friendly, breakfasts are great (choice and quality). It has a bus stop close by so it's easy to get to the city centre. The Penthouse is WONDERFUL and has views of the sea and Lion's Head. The decor in communal spaces and rooms is classy.

The spa is a (free) treat, and if we'd been there is summer the pool and sunbeds would be welcome too. There's great attention to detail e.g. in our room there are plug sockets that fit lots of different plug types from different places.

It's incredibly good value for travellers used to UK prices. We'd recommend this to anyone who wants a nice hotel in Cape Town.

The Glen is amazing. The location is great (Sea Point, a little removed from the central business district); the rooms are stylish and comfortable; the breakfasts are delicious; the price is great; and, the staff and services are unparalleled. Phillip Botha, the concierge, deserves special mention, as he is the best concierge I have ever encountered. Phillip planned our activities in Cape Town as well as created a tailored itinerary for our week around the Cape, including making all our bookings. Further, he was incredibly sweet and delightful.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this hotel, its staff, and the experience it provides for its guests.
