Cape Diem is such a wonderful intimate lodge. The staff were over the top wonderful. They catered to our every need. Helped with all the information we needed for day time excursions. Just blocks from the A & V waterfront. Don't miss the City Grill restaurant while you are there. Felt safe walking even at dusk. It is s beautiful as the web site shows. Spotless clean. breakfast on the veranda is a must! On a dead end street that made the lodge very quiet yet just 1 block from the active city life, that reminded us a little of Greece!
Good Job Michael you should be proud! We long to come back already!

Room Tip: The room across from the kitchen was perfect with a private veranda and close to coffee and food. Th...

Very nice place with clean nicely decorated rooms. Helpful staff. Walking distance from restaurants and red bus. During the day you can walk to V&A Waterfront but take a cab on the way back at night just to be safe. Great weekend getaway to discover Cape Town.

The staff performed better than many of my experiences with Ritz Carlton Concierge's.. Even the INTERN.. Wow huh? We had focused all our planning on Safari.. with nothing but ideas for Caetown. Carpe Diem's staff set up the entire 4 days in Capetown.. private guides/drivers, helicopter to shark diving, tickets, reservations.. they planned and re-planned when things changed...

The rooms are better than the pictures.. which is RARE. The place is relaxed and intimate.

Room Tip: We had the room right in front.. the others looked great too.

First port of call on our west coast trip found welcome and accommodation to be first class. Attention to detail and helpfulness of staff and owner Daniel could not be faulted. Great location within easy walk of V & A waterfront as well as bars and restaurants on Main Street. Would recommend Hussars for steaks and wine at a reasonable price.
On our next break to South Africa if in Cape Town would definitely stay again.

Room Tip: Select garden room doors open onto patio/pool area.

Although travelling solo, I had a beautiful large room (first right inside the front door) which was nicely decorated and had good facilities. I loved the big bath for a soak after mountain biking one day. Daniel, Alexandra and all the staff were friendly and helpful, with real local information not just trying to sell tours. The breakfasts were good, can be taken outside in the gardens. The location is good as others have stated, but you need to be prepared to take taxis, especially after dark, however these are very reasonably priced. It was a really good stay and I would like to return one day.
