“Beautiful hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 November 2013 via mobile

We went there on a holiday with family in May 2013 and were really amazed by the sheet quality and size of the rooms. Supremely comfortable and highly recommended. Being vegetarians, the staff was understanding and courteous enough to consider our needs and prepare off the menu items for us.

We have just spent 3 nights at the Cape Royale and it was superb. Everyone was so friendly - from the initial welcome, the reception staff, housekeeping. It was the best hotel we have stayed in. Beds very comfortable and room quiet. Nothing was too much trouble. Food in the restaurant was great and the service excellent. We would definitely book again.

My wife's new favourite hotel in Africa. Fabulous reception areas can be misleading. Particularly in the US but this one was just a prelude to a huge, immaculate two bedroom suite. We didn't actually use the kitchen for anything but it too was immaculately appointed. Hotel parking is onsite and underground and they assign you a space with a random peerage tacked on to the front of your name so I was Earl jgm2 during my visit.

Very close (walking distance) to the waterfront.

My mother and I stayed at the Cape Royale Luxury Hotel for three nights as part of a group tour of South Africa. We were quite disappointed, overall. The reception are is impressive and unique with a lot of wood and mirrors. Staff is friendly and helpful. The room, however, was quite disappointing. It was big, with a reception / kitchen area and a bedroom. However, it looked slightly inappropriate for a luxury hotel to have a kitchen of that size when entering the room: one aims at being pampered, not at doing some cooking! But, even more importantly, the room was not particularly clean and we had to call for housekeeping to dust it and wash the floors. The bedsheets were not changed for the three nights we stayed at the hotel and this did not seem appropriate for an hotel of that category. Staff at dinner was very helpful and flexible. A little less for breakfast. The hotel is close to the waterfront but one could not really walk there as the road is dark and not very busy, especially at night. While the hotel offers a "navette" to the waterfront, it is only complementary every two hours.

This is the best hotel I have ever stayed in and I have stayed in about 100 (very good ***** hotels) all over the world, the welcome we received on entering was so special and they treated us like royalty, the room, if you can call it a room, was bigger than our bungalow, with everything a home would have and more, the staff especially James at the door were so attentive and helpful nothing was to much trouble and they responded within seconds of any request.
I really think that I would travel all the way to South Africa from England again just to stay there.
WONDERFUL WONDERFUL WONDERFUL

Room Tip: I only stayed in the one suite but I imagine all are equally fantastic

We when we entered our room, we found out it was not a room, but an apartment!! Very big room, with separate tv room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. Elegant, clean, and luxurious. Friendly and professional staff. Well located (15 minute walk from Victoria and Albert waterfront mall). We had a car, and parking cost us US$ 10 per day. First 1GB internet free in your room, after that, free wifi in the lobby. Very helpful concierge desk - recommended and helped us through good and interesting tourist attractions (Table Mountain, Red Bus hop on-hop off, Cape of good hope, beaches, etc...). Room price was good (we were impressed how Cape Town in not expensive at all). Hotel restaurant/bistrot not good (food quality and service were below our expectations). Roof top pool and lounge with astonishing views from Cape Town. When we arrived for check-in, they greated us with a Gongo and the whole staff applauded us at the reception area (a little cheesy, but sure makes you feel like a Hollywood star lol).

I traveled to Cape Town and stayed at the Cape Royale Hotel from October 3-13th. The stay was just as the name indicates...it was a royal experience! Upon exiting the taxi, I stepped onto a red carpet leading to the doors of the hotel. There I was met by a doorman wearing a top hat who greeted me as if I were a Royal. Upon entering the hotel, my arrival was noted by the striking a gong and the announcement that Lady W had arrived. Everyone in the lobby gave applause. I was totally surprised to say the least. There I found the staff to be very accommodating, the rooms were very well laid out and clean (I had a one bedroom suite that was like an apartment; kitchen included), taxi service was always available and personal shuttle service as well, if requested. The restaurant's menu is limited but the food is great and live entertainment is offered on the weekend. The Sky Bar is also another nice option (especially at night), as it overlooks the entire City. The hotel is situated in one of the best areas of Cape Town and is just a 5 minute drive to the Waterfront and its shops and restaurants. This place added so much to my stay in Cape Town. I'd definitely stay there again!! P.S. Be sure to take the Red Bus sightseeing tour. It's economical and takes you to most places that you'd like to visit. You can go to several venues for what a taxi would cost to go to just one of the sights. It's cheaper than round trip taxi fare to one stop and back to the hotel!!!

Room Tip: I don't think there are any bad rooms!!!
