From the moment we arrived, we found all staff warm, helpful and very efficient. We had flown 21 hours non-stop and having contacted Fransette before departing on our trip, the staff had arranged showering facilities as we had an early morning arrival in Cape Town and were then on a guided tour. The apartment was palatial and the service outstanding and staff always had a smile when greeting their guests. We had our grown up daughters with us and found the added bonus of spa facilities and the roof bar complete with pool and day beds very relaxing at the end of the day. A great place for us to all meet in the evenings. Can never thank the staff of this establishment enough. Such a positive vibe to begin our tour of South Africa, Cape Town and the Garden Route.

We stayed in the three bedroom villa on the 9th floor with our family of four boys. From the moment we were collected from the airport by our friendly helpful driver Moosa we knew it was going to be a very pleasurable experience. All the staff from the Bistro 1800 up to our top floor were so welcoming and attentative. A particular mention has to go to Abraham who looked after our every need, he was a treasure trove of information and organised all our day trips to ensure we packed as much as possible in to this amazing city !! The villa was beautifully decorated throughout, very spacious and comfortable our garden had the most beautiful views of the World cup stadium the waterfront and the mountains to the rear. All of the bedrooms were extremely comfortable and well appointed. I have to mention the food was of a very high standard, Bistro 1800 seems to be well known for their steaks which were delcious but I have to mention the seafood was excellent! We truely felt we had stayed with a lovely welcoming family and our only regret is that we didnt have longer. We look forward to coming back !!!

In an attempt to keep this short and sweet, rooms are fantastic, location is unparalleled, hotel is beautiful, staff are friendly and roof top bar gives amazing views (and cocktails).

Downside is F&B staff are generally slow and unresponsive, internet is just OK (3G on my phone was quicker than hotel wifi), water pressure is lacking and roof top pool is very small.

Interesting piece of info., if you catch a taxi out front the hotel, be sure to do it with a non indigenous, as we found that from our 10 taxi rides, they would not use the meter and double the costs. Non-indigenous will use the meter, so what you see is what you get...which is the real price and 50% cheaper.

To end on a positive, I would certainly stay here again, and would recommend the hotel.

Dear Royal Guest,

Thank you for your great feedback, the positives and the constructive comments.
I assure you I will investigate the F&B staff being generally slow and unresponsive, as this is not that standard that pride ourselves in providing.
Thank you for your feedback regarding the internet & the water pressure, this will also be investigated in order to improve the quality offered.

Once again, many thanks for your support of our hotel and service.

Royal Regards

We had an extremely pleasant and memorable stay.

Cape Royal accommodated all of our needs and beyond, the service and staff were friendly and always helpful and nothing was too much trouble, there really couldn't have done enough for us.

The travel desk were experts who arranged various dinners / lunches and birthday breakfast all which we were delighted with.

We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite which was spacious and light, the main bathroom is lovely! It's a shame the 2nd smaller room doesn't have a window but you can't have it all!

Would recommend and look forward to staying again in the future.

From the time you stop in front of the hotel and the valet takes the car until you leave, you are surrounded in luxury.

I stayed in the 2bedroom suite which is really spacious and elegantly furnished! The bathrooms are huge and beds super comfortable!

Housekeeping staff very helpful and ensured that every single request where satisfied.

If you want to feel like a king stay here!

We stayed here for the first night of our honeymoon (which we mentioned when booking). On arrival we had been upgraded to a 2 bedroom apartment for free!
All the staff were very friendly, attentive to our needs and so helpful. The owner of the rooftop bar was especially lovely.
The hotel is very clean, modern and grand throughout. Our room was beautiful and so spacious. We had 2 large bedrooms, 2 en suite bathrooms, a fully functional kitchen and huge lounge/diner with sound system. Plus a balcony.
The hotel is situated close to the V&A waterfront (we walked there but were advised to get a taxi back after dark as the main road which the hotel is on is not the best apparently (however it is very secure inside the hotel). There is also a free shuttle bus to the V&A waterfront which we forgot about.
The rooftop pool and bar area was nice with the most beautiful views of table mountain, V&A waterfront and beyond. One side of the bar has a small pool and seating area with music playing - it has a great atmosphere and everyone seemed in the party mood when we arrived. The other side of the bar is a sushi bar and much quieter with relaxing sofas and great views.
The main restaurant has amazing burgers which according to locals are well known about!
They also have secure underground parking.

The only negatives that I can think of was that the rooftop pool was small and in my opinion not ideal in the evenings for young kids. Our main bedroom was a little noisy at night and we actually ended up moving into the spare room at the back of the apartment (the front of the hotel is on a very busy road with a small taxi rank etc so lots of noise from cars and drunk people!) - however the beds are soooo comfy!

But apart from that I would thoroughly recommend staying here - I only wish we got to stay here longer than one night and use the hotels facilities more.
I would say ideal for couples, business trips and a holiday of luxury!

This hotel promised to be a great hotel as soon as we stepped into the lobby. The staff were friendly and always smiling! My family and I stayed for 5 nights before moving on to George, Plettenberg Bay and Amakhala Game reserve. Although we didn't have a nice view, the suite was spacious, well planned and clean. Location is 5 mins away from the V&A waterfront. The staff at the travel desk were incredibly informative and guided us to the right places and restaurants - Gerchen - thanks. We had a driver (Kabelo) who was patient with us and was knowledgeable about the areas he drove us to. Again, always with a smile and welcoming - thanks. I would recommend this hotel to my friends. One drawback (for the children) was the WiFi in our suite - they had to keep asking for new codes - for mum & dad, it made no difference :)
