In the V&A waterfront, great staff who cannot do enough for you and will arrange anything you need. The hotel has a handful of rooms and is boutique, but the rooms are large, excellently furnished and equipped and spotless. It is part of a chain which operates adjacent quality hotels as well and you benefit from the services of the combined operation. We arrived at 9am and our room was ready and waiting. Half an hour later after a cup of tea and a two minute walk we were in the waterfront happily exploring this vibrant area. The management and staff are attentive beyond compare and keen to know that you are enjoying yourself. The feel is impressively relaxed and not stuffy alongside the very high standards. Everything local is just a short taxi ride away and the whole Cape area, whale watching, helicopters and great restaurants are easily arranged.

Room Tip: Don't worry they are all great!

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The rooms and decor were fabulous. Sheets, pillows and linen sublime. Anyone with an appreciation for old, historic buildings that have been beatifully restored will love this hotel. The service was good. My only complaint was very slow service in the morning for breakfast and the coffee could be improved, but the options were lovely. All in all a great stay and I will be back.

From the first moment we entered the hotel we knew that our stay here would be memorable. After a flight delay and a forced overnight stay in Johannesburg, we were given a warm welcome and shown to our room where a complimentary bottle of bubbly was waiting. Every single member of the staff went out of their way to make our stay so special and all our requests were dealt with in a friendly efficient manner. There is great attention to detail and the hotel really does feel like a home away from home. The rooms are beautiful and always kept immaculate. Breakfasts were very good and we had several poolside lunches cooked for us by the hotel chef - yummy. We were so spoiled that it was a sorry day when we had to leave. We would love to come back to Capetown and stay here again.

Great rooms. Great location. Overall good experience. Only complaint is that staff is very pushy towards it's own services. Staff refused to recommend any restaurant other than it's own and insisted on us always using it's high priced car service.

I have never given a hotel five stars - until now. I can't imagine changing a thing about the Dock House. It's truly splendid, awesome, a hidden gem - or maybe not hidden anymore since it has so many fans. It is paradise from the moment you walk in the door. The hotel is right in the V&A area, which is convenient for my business trips, but elevated on its own private grassy patch of land so you have space and serenity.

The staff were outstanding and endlessly helpful, very personalized, fast, and knowledgeable. The room was gorgeous, had a huge private balcony, and I still fantasize about the wood (teak?)-floored, spacious, absolutely perfect bathroom. The grounds were immaculate. The breakfast was delicious.

This hotel is expensive, but the V&A central booking gave me a very generous discount. And unlike some corporate hotels that can't live up to the price (and are impersonal, smug, etc.), Dock House can walk the talk.

Only 6 rooms right overlooking the water. It was the harbormasters private residence. Location is incredible old world charm and unbelievable service.

Having recently returned back from South Africa on my honeymoon i just had to leave a quick review for this amazing hotel.
I'd booked based on my own research along with trip advisor reviews and WOW what a find.
Upon arrival they had left rose petals in our bathroon layed out in the shape of a heart with complimentary Champagne.
There are only 6 rooms.
We had an amazing one at the far end of the Hotel, which led up into a beautiful bedroom and a balcony overlooking the Waterfront.
The rooms were amazing, the views stunning, the service outstanding (A big thanks to Jody, Michelle & all the staff).
Its just a couple of minutes walk to the Waterfront.
It has a lovely pool, bar and area to relax in, which is shared by the residents of the main hotel too. We were there during the busiest time of the year and normally were able to find a sun lounger.
Nothing is too much trouble for the staff at this Hotel.
I will definitely be staying there again while in Cape Town.
Keep up the great work!!!!
