Arriving from Durban, this was a relief. Characterful hotel situated in colourful Bo-Kaap. Excellent location, five-minute taxi ride away from the thick of the night action (in Long Street) and good basis for day trips. Spacious rooms, nicely decorated and with all the facilities. Only a muezzin possibly interrupting your sleep for a couple of minutes in the morning. Friendly and hands on hosts always ready to help. For Cape Town, I don't need a hotel guide any longer.

Warm and friendly hosts had helpful tips. Spacious, bright and clean rooms with tasty furniture and decoration felt instantly comfy. WLAN available on all floors. Breakfast freshly made on order. Situated in colorful historic Bo Kaap quarter. Restaurants and city just a foot walk away. Was our first choice again on our way back.

Arriving at the Rouge on Rose direct from the overnight "red eye" from London to our first visit to South Africa we were greeted like old friends by Ursula who did everything possible to make our stay enjoyable. There may be 50 ways to leave your lover but the 50 stairs to our suite was so worthwhile, it was clean, light and airy, beds comfortable and the wet room an additional wow factor. So good was our experience we booked additional nights at the end of our holiday before travelling back to the UK. We have been to many so called boutique hotels around the world - but the Rouge on Rose rates among the best we have stayed in. We look forward to returning to the Rouge on Rose and continuinging our love affair with South Africa

Room Tip: Choose a room facing away from the street especially if hotel is near robots also only accept a room that is far away from the elevators as possible.

My husband and I recently spent a very enjoyable night at Rouge on Rose and felt like instant friends the moment Ursula, the owner, welcomed us. It is set in the beautiful and culturally-rich and colourful Bo-Kaap region, something which added to the uniqueness of our stay here. Ursula has been in this industry in Cape Town for more than 15 years, and can be trusted to provide very helpful tips on worthwhile dining experiences, attractions and transport options.
Our room was airy and spacious without being stark. Our suite offered a comfortable lounge area, en suite bedroom area and kitchenette equipped for preparing small meals. We really felt at home here.
Rouge on Rose is big enough to allow every guest privacy, but small enough to pay attention to personal service. I will definitely return to the warmth of Rouge on Rose!

We chose this boutique hotel B&B based on researching Frommer's guide plus Trip Advisor. It was described as a'value find" and we can confirm this absolutely based on our stay. The room we had was spacious ,clean and comfortable. The breakfast was a real treat and comes with a menu that includes more than the standard B&B type ,excellent.Ursala makes sure that all your needs are taken care of including taxis (reliable ) ,advice on some very good restaurants and touring the area. The staff are friendly and willing to please. We enjoyed the stay.

Room Tip: We requested room 302 and found it to be spacious and comfortable.
