“A beautiful place - first class”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 January 2010

We were fortunate enough to be upgraded to Rouge on Rose having booked Rose B&B just opposite (which we believe is very nice too!). We were given an apartment on the 3rd floor (this place doesn't have a lift but we didn't mind the stairs - helped up work off some of the copious amounts of lovely food which we scoffed in SA!). It has a kitchen and dining area, a sitting room with a really comfortable sofa, and a nice bedroom with a walk-in shower, separate loo and sink. The walk-in shower was a lovely touch with a huge shower head. The bed was really comfortable. The whole place was lovely and spacious. They have decorated it all really well, very stylish. We were staying on a B&B basis so we had breakfast in the cafe downstairs - the food was good, although we did wonder what happened to the butter? None in sight! Nevertheless, it was tasty and although there were only three options on the menu, we did not get bored.

The location is great, 5 mins to Long St, 10 mins to the station, and we felt very safe during the day and at night the security guard would always be looking out for us when we returned. It is central enough to walk everywhere, but still in a peaceful road.

Ursula and Michel, who run the place, are very friendly and really helpful.

I can't fault this place really. It is very good value for money (even if we had been paying full rate, which we weren't having been upgraded). I would recommend it to anyone and will definitely look to stay here again on our next visit. First-class.

my daughter and I spent 5 days at Rouge on Rose in CT. a small but quaint family business run like clock work. I am a stickler for detail, presentation and reception when my money is involved. I could not fault this establishment on anyone of the above. The place was clean and tastefully decorated ,simply but with care and attention to detail. I am also a family oriented person and I was happy to see a young man like Michel helping his mother without complaining. Our children today just want to hang out and up to no good. This to me was impressive. And Michel keep it up.

Finally for the price one is getting more than their money's worth. Its proximity to the Cape quarter and water front makes it an ideal place to stay. personally Ihave found mysely a second home. I have told all my friends to stay there ,its worth every penny.

We stayed at Rouge on Rouge when we arrived in South Africa for our sons wedding.
We had three rooms, the welcome from Ursula and Michele you knew straight away upon meeting them that they would make your stay fantastic.

The rooms were fantastic,so quiet and peaceful with lovely views from balcony, they were huge just like an apartment with table chairs, very comfy sofa,tv,extremely comfy beds,i have never had such a good nights sleep, wet room,no expense has been spared on these rooms. The breakfasts were lovely.

Ony problem was that we were not there for the whole 10 days, will definately go back again.

I CANT RATE THIS HOTEL HIGHLY ENOUGH,HOMELY,QUIET,PEACEFUL,HEAVEN.

All made possible by two wonderful people who are now friends.

Myself and my boyfriend rang in 2010 at the Rouge on Rose in December 2009. I read about this hotel online, and booked it after reading some excellent reviews. I have to say I was not disappointed!! Ursula and Michelle will go out of their way to ensure that you enjoy your stay at their hotel , and will assist you in booking tours, rental cars etc.

My room was perfect, Great bed, massive living area, with fridge and cooking area. It was extremely comfortable, classy and well furnished.

Location was great also- Bo-Kapp area, but only a 3-4 min walk to Long street, where all the restaurants and nightlife is located. Camps Bay is less than 10 mins drive, Table Mountain also only a few mins away - you can walk if you can brave the heat. V&A Waterfront also very close.

We also had one of the best breakfasts in Cape Town at the Rose.

I also found it very reasonably priced, in comparison to other hotels in Cape Town that I stayed in, which were definitely not as nice and comfortable as the Rouge.

I will definitely return to The Rouge on Rose, as soon as I can convince my boyfriend to return to CapeTown:). Hopefully next xmas!

Thanks Ursula and Michelle for the great stay!!

We stayed there with 16 people for almost 2 weeks in October 2009, and I have to say: it was just perfect.

All rooms in the hotel were clean, they were spacey (not to mention the design!), and comfortable. However, a hotel is only perfect when the service of the personnel is also at that level, and Ursula and her son really don't let their guests miss out on anything. They will help you with good restaurants to eat, provide the right information if you want to organize something, and whenever there were any problems they helped us right away.

To summarize, if I would even come back to Cape Town, I would definitly consider staying there again.

We very much enjoyed our stay in this lovely new hotel situated in the calm and colourful Rose Street.
The suite was huge and spacious but very elegant and cosy. The sumptuous bathroom included an amazing bathtub and relaxing shower. Also very important: a wonderful kingsize bed.
Very friendly staff and a big thanks to Ursula and Michel for their superb services, advice and chats, which made our stay unforgettable.
Sidedish, the breakfast and lunch bar situated in the hotel, serves fingerlicking good stuff.
Make sure you at least once order the french toast and the home made lemonade!

Myself and my husband recently stayed at the Rouge on Rose hotel based on a self catering basis. The hotel was very pretty and nicely decorated, the room were very spacious, had everything in the kitchen to make your own meals and had a very homely feel to it! The breakfast in the morning was an added bonus and the selection was nice.
The location of the hotel is superb as its walkable distance to many places and only a 10 minute walk to the "Green Market Square".

We wanted to say a big thanks to Ursula and Michel who were very accomodating, kind and very helpful. They are the 2 kindest people we have met in Cape Town, very willing to help when you need it. God bless them both!
Michel, Ursula - Thank you so much for allowing us to book our Table Mountain tickets online, you saved us 4 hours of waiting time, and the views was out of the world!

We will definately recommend this hotel to our friends, the service we had recieved was excellent, the staff also were very helpful and kind.
