“Truly fantastic!!”
Reviewed 30 June 2014

My husband and I stayed here for three days on our 50th wedding anniversary trip to Africa. The room we had was superb - comfortable king bed with sitting area, huge bathroom with double sinks and separate jetted tub and shower, and a lovely balcony overlooking Table Mountain. Each time we came back to our room, there was something there either to eat or drink for us to celebrate our anniversary. We had breakfast delivered to the room one of the mornings and the service and presentation were fit for a queen and king - roses, candles and the whole beautiful white clothed table. The breakfast buffet on the first floor was to die for with champagne, oysters and all the wonderful usual fixings that you would expect and then some surprises too. We ate our anniversary dinner at their restaurant. Our table was specially presented with roses and rose petals. The food was yummy and they surprised us with a lovely chocolate covered mousse cake to take to our room. What a stay it was indeed!!

The suites has a gym inside so that you don't even have to leave to work out. The dining room and living room can generously host a party of 50. Breakfast on the balcony in the morning with a stunning view.

One deficit: Entertainment needs updating, speakers, entertainment console all older style. If you bring your own Ipod/Android to play your own music - won't happen.

We ordered bottles of champagne and the service was impeccable.

Room Tip: High floors - panoramic view

Stayed over at the One and Only Cape Town this weekend and what a fantastic stay. The service was impeccable and the staff made us feel as if we were VIP's from the time we arrived to the time we left. The room was spectacular with views of the mountain, surprise complimentary champagne in the room as we were celebrating a birthday.

Breakfast at Reubens was outstanding. They have certainly earned their stars.

I will definitely be coming back again and well worth the money.

Good luxury hotel with views of the Table Mountain from most rooms. Rooms and bathrooms are large, well appointed and do not disappoint. Good food. The business center offers free browsing. Friendly staff.

We were welcomed at the One and Only with lots of warmth and friendliness which was lovely as we were there for a special occasion. The room they gave us was a corner room and absolutely gorgeous - views of the harbour and mountain.
Everything was great from the moment we arrived until the moment we left - in the hotel itself… however the spa has no atmosphere (just to say that my masseuse was amazing though) and we spent hardly any time there at all - which is very unusual for us. They have separate areas for men / women and as we were there for a romantic night away not really the point at all.
We ate at Rebeun's restaurant and although the food was faultless it wasn't particularly exciting and the atmosphere of the restaurant was very squash-court like - no romance at all.
All in all, the hotel is amazing - the staff are super friendly and we would definitely return but the spa and restaurants are very much lacking.

Room Tip: We had room 320 and it was GORGEOUS.

My wife and I spent three nights at The One&Only as part of our 25th wedding anniversary visit to South Africa. This was our 1st stop and the visit set the tone for a wonderful trip. The staff was courteous, professional, and friendly while the guest accommodations, dining, and spa facilities were top notch. But above all, the attitude of the staff to accommodate our needs was right out of the customer service handbook. When we left, I mentioned to the day manager there were top hotels in the U.S. that could learn from The One&Only.

Most of the luxury hotels/resorts we have been to are generally pretty expansive and spread out. O&O came across as a pretty compact luxury property given its entrance, lobby, the restaurants, and four floor of rooms and an Island wing. It became all the more obvious when we had one group during our stay.
The location is great - walking distance from the V&A waterfront - the most happening place in the evenings and for shopping as well. Plus there is a nice aquarium adjacent to the property for families besides the kids club in the hotel. The rooms were large and luxurious, well appointed with great amenities - the best part was the open balconies with great views of the Table Mountain or the bay. Luckily the room we got had two separate balconies with a view of both ! We were very happy with the choice of in-room tea and coffee (Nespresso), fruit basket and a well-stocked mini-bar (not too expensive!). The bathroom was quite nice with a oval bathtub and a good choice of toiletteries. Our room service experience was also very good with a regular turn-down service in the evenings. We did have a broken curtain drawing rod and some stains in the sink but it doesn't take away the overall comfort levels of the room.
The spa was nice but kinda staid or maybe we were too tired to enjoy it. We had a few meals, but mostly breakfast in the Reuben and the morning spread was quite good with choices of coffee. The general interaction with the staff and service standards were also very nice. A very comfortable & pleasant stay and recommended to all.

Room Tip: Choose rooms numbered 220, 320,420 - as these are corner rooms with two balconies - overlooking the...
