Arrived early in the morning with my wife and the staff were very accommodating for early check in without a fee. Room and bathroom was very spacious with a great view of table mountain ( i did asked in advance for the view). The hotel has two cars ( a jaguar + range rover, you can book them for restaurant or sightseeing in a 10km radius without charge but you give the driver a tip, much better than using a taxi). One minor thing is the internet connection-not that great in wifi, but they are going to solve that you get 30 min free, with cable when you bring along is faster; they have european electricity sockets so need for adapters.
Food is wonderful and nice presented.
The windows can open for some fresh air but there is no system to hold the windows up, so you have to imrovise, the reason is for security

Room Tip: higher floors ask for mountain view

The Taj is situated in the heart of the Cape Town City Bowl and is a must stay for all travelers wanting something special from a hotel.

I found the hotel staff to be most pleasant and helpful during my stay and special mention must be made of the friendly concierge whom arranged our complementary chaffeur driven Jaguar to Camps Bay. The receptionist "Joe" was very friendly and had the pleasure of showing us to our rooms and demonstrating the various functions available.

The rooms are elegantly furnished with beautiful views of Table Mountain. The giant king size bed was certainly comfortable judging by my reluctance to get out the next morning. Bathrooms are dressed in the finest finishes with ample space and amenities.

The Breakfast is served is a Cafe Style restaurant where you can sit on the sidewalk and soak up the glorious Cape Town atmosphere. Again compliments to the staff on duty who ensured that our every request was catered to.

This is a great hotel and I look forward to returning on my next trip to Cape Town.

I had the priviledge of staying at The Taj, Cape Town on Monday 30th January 2012. From the moment we arrived, to the moment we left, we were treated like royalty by all staff we came in contact with. Nothing was too much, and the genuine attitude of the staff to offer assistance, was exemplary! Breakfast the next morning was a culinary treat and of the highest quality! Sitting at breakfast at a table outside SImply Mint, made one feel as if we were sitting in a European city, what with the surrounding architecture, pedestrians and weather!

I will definately return and will sing the hotel's praises to whomever I come across!

Keep up the incredible standards!

Spent four nights at this wonderful property late December 2011. The club rooms were large and comfortable - the bathroom was top notch with Molton Brown products. All staff members were very accommodating and helpful. The evening drinks and snacks (club floor) were nice. Had dinner at Bombay Brasserie, and the food was excellent. Had the breakfast buffet daily (included in the rate) - wide variety, tasty, great way to start day. All in all, A+

I spent one night here in January in a corner suite. The hotel is still very new only a couple of years old and is still in magnificent condition and no expense has been spared with the renovation of the old buildings.

Rooms come in both modern or heritage style, I preferred the modern which is a little more contemporary. The room had fantastic views over table mountain and was right in the city centre. All rooms come with nespresso coffee machines meaning fresh coffee freely available which is a lovely touch.

The bed was extremely comfortable and bathroom very well equipped with separate bath and shower.

I ate at both mint and the Indian restaurant and the food was excellent and reasonably priced for a hotel of this standard. There are oysters and champagne on the breakfast buffet.

The hotel is a little way from the waterfront but offers an excellent luxury option in the city. There is also free valet parking which is very useful.

Room Tip: Upgrade to a table mountain view suit if possible

Stayed here with my new husband on our honeymoon for 3 nights. Our room was beautifully furnished and immaculately clean. The staff were charming and the breakfast was one of the best i've had. We very much felt 'looked after' whilst we were there- staff were very keen to help. The bed was enormous, as was the bath and shower- overall a fantastic stay! The only thing i would say is that there's no outdoor pool- we didnt visit the indoor pool/spa area so can't comment on that.
