We had a wonderful time at the Taj hotel. The location is excellent - next to all the main city centre attractions and close to the red/blue city bus tour stops. It's also within walking distance of the waterfront (25 mins) an long street is just around the corner.

Unexpectedly, we were upgraded to the best rooms in the hotel for which we were very grateful.

The service was great - unfortunately my wife's handbag was stolen in a restaurant in central Cape Town - see my review of La Moulette - and the staff at the hotel were very helpful.

The breakfast was brilliant - loads to choose from including some great curries! There is also a great oyster and champagne bar connected to the hotel which has great food and some friendly staff.

Would thoroughly recommend the hotel.

I had the pleasure of staying two nights at the Taj Cape Town. The hotel is a wonderful medium sized property. The staff were very helpful and professional. I have stayed at other hotels in Cape Town and I have found that this is probably the best in the city.

The rooms are fantastic and very well appointed. The only downside to this hotel is the internet connection - it is very expensive, reliable but slow.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to business travelers.

If you do not want to stay at the water front this is a nice choice. The rooms are big, breakfast is good, service is good and the price is ok. The fitness facility is very good, also. But it is not a walking distance from the water front if this is the place you will spend most of the times (water sports,...)

From being picked up at the airport to check out, everything went smoothly with genuine friendly service. We stayed for 4 nights and dined there twice, one night in the brasserie and once in Twanky's bar, both were enjoyable and Twanky's had free wifi. Various attractions are within walking distance. Long street bars are very quiet on a Sunday night. V&A is short ride away. Open top buses leave near hotel. Room was large with good features. Had a view of lions head and a bit of table mountain . No complaints at all.

Room Tip: We stayed in 1504. Nice view of city, signal hill and lions head.

Great service. Nice modern rooms with luxury toiletries provided (molten brown toiletries). They even have a pillow menu with 8 different types of pillows to choose from. Lots of tv channels to choose from. Breakfast is buffet style with a good selection but I find the quality not that great. Good quantity but so o quality of food.
Wifi is free for 30 mins a day.
Location- not good at all. Basically I don't feel safe walking around after sun set. And there's not much food outlets nearby within walking distance. Unless u r willingly to walk a little further to long street where you can find more food outlets.
