About a 18 minute drive from the airport is this very nice Hilton. Located in the Malay district of Cape Town. The staff here is extremely friendly and the service was great. We stayed on the executive floor and had a wonderful view of Table Mountain. The room was very nice with bathrobe and turn down service. The executive lounge was fantastic - excellent staff and food at breakfast!! The room was very clean and modern. Loved the faux fireplace. Overall a great hotel, just not in love with the area. Run down around the hotel. - no restaurants nearby or grocery stores. Walking to the waterfront is only 20 minutes away, but during our walk in the daytime was accosted by a number of people asking for money. Did not dare venture out at nighttime.

Room Tip: high floor great.

Dear Valued Guest,

Thank you for your 5 star rating on this website.

Your positive comments about our "extremely friendly" team members, the "fantastic" Executive Lounge and our clean and modern rooms are greatly appreciated and I have proudly shared them with the rest of my team.

It is with regret that our location is not to your liking. Many guests especially point out the advantages of our prime location in the City Centre - in the vicinity of many places of interest as well as restaurants etc.

Once again, thank you for your feedback and I am looking forward to welcoming you back in the near future.

Yours Sincerely,

Markus Fritz

My husband and I stayed here over the Argus weekend using Hilton Honours points. The hotel is centrally situated within easy cycling distance of the start of the Argus cycle race. The hotel entered into the spirit of the Argus weekend with storage for bicycles and refreshment tables set up in the foyer on the day of the race. There is a handy shuttle service to the Waterfront every hour.

A definite Muslim influence prevails over the hotel such as no alcohol in the rooms or restaurants but this didn't worry us unduly. The hotel staff were always friendly, helpful and obliging. The breakfast in the executive lounge was adequate but the cutlery was either dirty or tarnished - rather off-putting! Our room was on the 5th floor and was a decent size. The only criticism that I have is that the bathroom is not completely sealed off from the bedroom and so lacks complete privacy if required.

We will definitely use the Hilton again next year.

Good hotel, little bit far from the main touristic points of Capetown and nothing special about it.
The internet wireless access is OK (much better than Taj) but the rooms are not functional. The TV is very small, the bathroom+toilet does have a proper door (no privacy enough) and the breakfast was not included in the price.
you can get more for less in capetown.

We are a family of four (high school teens) and we stayed for 4 nights on 3/4-3/8. My husband is a diamond member and we had 2 rooms on the 5th floor. We really cannot say enough nice things about the staff or the hotel. We found it to be very modern and really lovely. The staff went out of their way in greeting and helping us.....I thought they were exceptional! We had a beautiful view of table mountain, as well as a free bottle of wine every day in both of our rooms. Extremely spacious and gorgeous rooms.

Our son and daughter tried ordering a pizza from a delivery service and was having a hard time getting an outside line from their room. The concierge came to the room to help them then back again to see they were ok. Even on check out, the concierge found my husband had left behind a double adapter and returned it. The free breakfast on the executive floor was really wonderful. Hot breakfast, toast, fruit, pastries, espresso coffee machine, it was really wonderful. Full bar up to 11 p.m. with hot snacks.

About the parking, we parked every single night on the street. There are cameras all around the property and many staff were outside late on arrival. It is very close to many bars, it is not uncommon to come across homeless children and beggars. However, we felt very safe because there are so many municiple security guards on every corner. It reminded us of a late night on Bourbon Street. Cabs are readily available and we took them to many restaraunts at night. We've lived in Johannesburg for years and found this to be a typical city. If your looking for Disney World safety, a visit to Cape Town is not for you. We found this hotel to be perfect for our family of four. Great location to get wherever we wanted to go!

Room Tip: Ask for a view of Table Mountain

We recently visited the Hilton, we were very impressed with the service and the hospitality from the hotels staff. But please be careful not to order dinner in the hotel and bar as the usual 200%-300% is marked at almost 600% and very expensive ok for tourists but not us locals. Also management giving us the silver card but keep saying we not entitled to the executive lounge a bit sloppy on being professional. Otherwise neat clean and def a recommended place to stay

Dear Valued Guest,

Thank you for your great comments about out team members and their “impressive” service.

I regret that you found the prices in our outlets high. We are reviewing our menus regularly and always strive to be competitive to other properties in Cape Town. Specials such as the Curry Buffet complete our offer, which is certainly designed to suit different expectations.

Please kindly note that only HHonors Gold and Diamond members have access to the Executive Lounge. I would like to refer you to http://hhonors3.hilton.com/en/explore/benefits/index.html

Once again, thank you for your feedback and your recommendation of our property.

I am looking forward to welcoming you back soon,

Yours Sincerely

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights whilst we were on holiday in Cape Town using our Hilton HHonours points and so the value for money was good. On arrival were upgraded to Executive Floor access (although maybe not an executive Room - as we were on the 6th floor and they appeared to be on the 7th and 8th floors).
before Hilton bought it the hotel used to be a Muslim hotel I believe, and some of that "history" is still prominent and quite surprising from a Hilton Brand hotel in Cape Town (e.g no alcohol in the two main restaurants??!). it did not effect us and I just mention it as interesting.

The room we had was very nice with a view of Table Mountain and all the amenities you would expect of a 4-star hotel. We were out a lot and did not eat in the hotel except for a good breakfast in the Executive Room. The Executive Room as others have mentioned is a room on the Mezzanine level close to the pool and has no view which is shame and a missed trick here. And on non-sunny days could look uninviting.

The staff at the front desk and concierge and indeed all over the hotel were very helpful for advising on tours and attractions and other matters.
There is a complimentary hourly shuttle to and from the V&A waterfront each day between 09:00 and 18:00. Taxis were only 50 rand (£4) so also not a problem.
we parked our car at 90 Rand per night so, again, very good at £7 per night in a secure area.
Overall the hotel was comfortable and enjoyable for the 3 night stay although we were out most of the time.
If were to visit Cape Town again we might stay again at The Hilton or, more likely, look at a hotel on the V&A waterfront (although that can be quite noisy and busy) or a 5* Guesthouse close by (as travel is so cheap in taxis or by Hire car ad quite easy).

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of Table Mountain and floor 6 or above!

This is a very nice property, spacious rooms, with great bathrooms. The Hilton Lounge is excellent on the Mezzanine level. The pool and gym were also great. The staff and service (except on arrival at the door) were also great. Unfortunately when you arrive by car you have to go into the car park to access reception and there is no one there to direct you to this. There were two cars blocking the slipway to the garage and I had to try and slip back into peak hour traffic to get around them to go into the garage.

This hotel is located in the city centre and at night when returing to the hotel, past some night clubs etc with a lot of drunk people spilled into the streets who would not get out of the way for the car, I really felt unsafe which spoilt my stay in what is otherwise a great property.

Room Tip: Stay on an Exec Club Floor for lounge access. It is a great facility!
