To this day, still the best wine experience I've ever been on!
Katie met us at our cottage in Franschhoek in her VW Van and took us to three wineries. She has an incredible knowledge related to wine and deep connections in the wine community in the Western Cape. We learned a ton about wine that I had never learned during other tours or winery visits, but more importantly, it didn't feel like a class. Lots of laughs, fun, and most importantly, lots of wine!
We had a blast on a full day tour with her, she introduced us to wine makers if she happened to see them when we were there. Introduced us to the region and the history. If/when we make it back to South Africa, she will be the first call I make!

I did the Wine Fairy tour with a group of friends and we all agreed it was the best wine tour we had ever done. Her laid back yet passionate and knowledgeable approach had us actually absorbing information rather than feeling lectured to and we had a lot of laughs along the way as well. Thanks Katie for an unforgettable day!

We consider ourselves “wine tourists” as we have gone to many locations around the US and world sampling wine and buying it for our cellar. When we decided to go to South Africa for safari, we had to add a few days in the Stellenbosch and Franschhoek area. We’ve had great success in other countries hiring someone to take us around, so we starting researching options. My other half found the wine fairy online and we booked her well in advance. Prior to our visit, she asked us for a bit of information about our tastes and preferences, so we sent her some fairly detailed information. The day of our tour, she picked us up in a lovely vehicle, and whisked us away to 4 different wine farms and a stop for lunch. We were very pleased with our experience. Kate was very personable, knowledgeable and just a joy to spend the day. She knows everyone at the wineries and seems well respected. We learned a lot from her about SA wines and the history of the area, along with some new wine tasting tips! Highly recommend booking the Wine Fairy for the day!

Our Tour Organizer's Rhino, recommended that we do a day of wine touring with The WineFairy, Katy. We are so glad that they did. It was an amazing day and we thoroughly enjoyed learning about the wine region, visiting some wonderful wineries and tasting a great variety of wines from the region. My partner and I have done a lot of wine tastings and tours over the years all around the world, but, we were impressed with Katy's knowledge and her easy going nature to help us even better understand the various components of each wine. Even though she is a professional wine taster and qualified judge, she is not intimidating and makes finding your favorite wines fun. It's quite clear that she is well respected by the wineries and it is nice to receive the special treatment when we visited the various wine rooms. You will not be dissapointed. We highly recommend hiring Katy to take you around. Wine in fantastic too!!

We had a wonderful day with Katie She is a great host travel companion and wine expert. She made our day special, tailored the trip to suit our wine preferences, and was just great fun to be with. She is an international standard wine expert and a great travel guide. Highly recommended.
