This has become our regular Saturday hangout for breakfast and we have never been disappointed. They make the best scrambled eggs in town - so try the creamy scrambled eggs and bacon. The cakes and tarts are scrumptious and different to the usual carrot or chocolate you find at most places - try the quince and pecan nut. The interior is quaint and rather small, so don't be surprised if there is no space. They take reservations and the table is yours ... so no one will rush you Len, Johan and their staff (without exception) are marvelous hosts and nothing is ever too much to ask.

Quaint and warm....personal attention and awesome lunches and breakfast. Croissants fresh and it pulls you back in time and time again. The owners are well travelled and even sell their own cookbook.

“Decor is beautiful!”
Reviewed 12 June 2014

This small cafe in the Waterkant district is great for coffee/tea, croissants, tarts and salads. When you walk inside, you will feel like you are in France! The owner was there and made us feel very welcome. He made sure we were attended to and he made sure we enjoyed our meal. Great drinks/food and service.

“Hidden gem”
Reviewed 5 June 2014 via mobile

The Aubergine and couscous dish is a bowl of tangy heaven. The cheese cake is lovely. The tables are tiny and close together in this tiny spot- but it is cosy and in a good position to go to in the summer. The owner and waiters are always around to help and check that your food is enjoyed as much as they enjoyed making it.

“French breakfast”
Reviewed 29 May 2014 via mobile

Very very very nice! Service was excellent. Quiet relaxing atmosphere and excellent soufflé omelette with crispy bacon & tomato inside hmmmmm.

From outside I was reminded by our visit to Paris a couple of years ago. The atmosphere inside as well.

This is a place I strongly recommend in Cape Town's De Waterkant area. It's somewhat ticked away between buildings but a must to go and visit.
