“Food and destination observations”
Reviewed 23 August 2014

Overall the mill does not deliver to the expectations that I would expect from a food niched destination for the following reasons;
Many of the stalls are staffed by learners/ helpers which effects the consistancy of food delivery.
Whilst there is an amazimg variety available I get the impression that everything is priced/ margined to the max resulting in my opinion on a pretty expensive Saturday morning out for brekky! Very little change for R500 drawn at the local ATM is expensive for 2 people! R15 bucks for a 500 ml bottle of water is unreasonable.
This in itself will not phase me if the culinary experience matched Meinhard's in Vancouver or for that matter Giovanni's in Greepoint. The coffee machine broke down( and if any barrista had to look at the condition of the machine he would refuse to operate it). Cape Town is perceived to be SA's premium coffe destination- so this oversight is really not up to speed.
Yes, the breads and the fresh fruit and range of goods are impressive. HOWEVER my takout perception is that the mill is punching above its weight at the moment. I will not be going back in a hurry.

Don't expect to find good deals but you'll not be disappointed. many vendors and artists and entrepreneurs etc.... it is a must see and the earlier you get there the better. i went twice and enjoyed it each time. i highly recommend this to any visitor.

“Get there early...”
Reviewed 22 August 2014

There are so many different food stalls to try that it will take you months of Saturdays to get through them all. It gets insanely crowded so get there early.

On a sunn Saturday there is no other place to be than at the biscuit mill!!
There are many clothing stores and accessory stores but my main draw are the food stalls!! Absolutely the best tastes of Cape Town !!

“Go for the surprises”
Reviewed 20 August 2014

For me this was a great experience. I really enjoyed all the different flavours and types of food. The wine was great and to be honest I think I enjoyed it to much and overstayed myself :-). The women were shopping, shopping and shopping while we men had a great lunch. You get everything here from pancakes to excellent cheese. Great wines to jams. I will strongly recommend you to spoil yourself on a Saturday morning - don't be rushed, but rather enjoy your time at this great market.
