Overall the mill does not deliver to the expectations that I would expect from a food niched destination for the following reasons;
Many of the stalls are staffed by learners/ helpers which effects the consistancy of food delivery.
Whilst there is an amazimg variety available I get the impression that everything is priced/ margined to the max resulting in my opinion on a pretty expensive Saturday morning out for brekky! Very little change for R500 drawn at the local ATM is expensive for 2 people! R15 bucks for a 500 ml bottle of water is unreasonable.
This in itself will not phase me if the culinary experience matched Meinhard's in Vancouver or for that matter Giovanni's in Greepoint. The coffee machine broke down( and if any barrista had to look at the condition of the machine he would refuse to operate it). Cape Town is perceived to be SA's premium coffe destination- so this oversight is really not up to speed.
Yes, the breads and the fresh fruit and range of goods are impressive. HOWEVER my takout perception is that the mill is punching above its weight at the moment. I will not be going back in a hurry.
