We've stayed in boutique hotels around the world, from NYC to Paris to Buenos Aires, and this was one of the best, if not the best.

Excellent service, breakfast and high tea were very fresh and tasty, and the rooms are fantastic. We started in the Orchid room, and were upgraded to the Versailles room even though we hadn't booked that specific room. It was our honeymoon and this made it that much more special.

The small details are where they really stand out, from the complimentary wine, rides into and from town, and suggestions on where to go and how to do it best. The new location (since maybe fall 2013?) makes the view unbeatable, right at the base of Table Mountain.

I will recommend this hotel to anyone going to Cape Town.

Room Tip: If you can get it, go for Versailles.

Thank you for your review. Very happy you enjoyed your complimentary upgrade for your honeymoon. Our chefs Ric and Lauren prepare all our MannaBay Cafe (breakfast) and high tea items daily - so glad you enjoyed them. Our Waterford house wine and complimentary dinner transfers make it easy for you to relax with a glass of wine, enjoy the city or Table Mountain views and not have to worry about navigating your way to your evening dinner reservation. So glad you enjoyed your stay. Warm regards, Justine and The MannaBay team

We stayed at the old Manna Bay when we were there in May of 2013. At that time it was nearby with similar, spectacular views. The rooms, public areas food and service were incredible. The reason I feel confident in giving Manny Bay a 5 star rating is that I can tell that the same staff is supporting the new location. One day while renting a car we realized we had left our passport at the hotel; one of the staff members brought it to us downtown. She also helped us procure a couple "Canning Jar" solar lights we saw at a safari camp; she picked them up from the manufacturer on the way to work. The car service is new and a good idea. We took cabs which was easy, but now it must be painless. We would love to return.

Thank you Stephen for your feedback - yes, rather late than never. You are correct - we have relocated just 1 km further up the mountain so have even better more magnificent city and Table Mountain views. All the staff moved with us as well as employing more special people to join our team. It would be great for you to return. Next time I will ensure you have your passport with you when collecting your car - or even better, get your vehicle delivered while you sip your coffee admiring the views. This boutique hotel is the most amazing place. If you ever need a lesson in how to run a hotel and give customer service that is just about done to perfection, visit Mannabay. Every part of our stay was faultless. The room, the view, the staff, the breakfast, the afternoon tea, the complimentary driver service. It is impossible to explain how good this place and the management and staff are. You have to be there to appreciate this beautiful place. If you are thinking of going do not hesitate. You will not be disappointed.

MannaBay is situated at the foot of table mountain providing rooms with a view of the mountain as well as rooms with a view over the city of Cape Town. They have 8 different rooms to choose from with each one providing a different décor style and atmosphere. At the hotel you can find a fully kitted gym, bar, swimming pool and boma. They also provide high tea in the afternoons as well as dinner transfers in the evenings. In the mornings for breakfast a buffet of cold dishes is provided as well as a menu filled with hot dishes which is prepared by an in-house chef. They also have excellent coffee! In the end MannaBay can be summarized in 3 words: luxury, comfort and relaxation.

My husband and I spent a weekend at MannaBay for our 2nd anniversary celebration. From the moment we arrived in the driveway until the time we left at the end of the weekend, the staff were so pleasant and helpful. Jess, Justine, Gideon and the rest of the staff were relaxed while having our needs met even before we thought of it. I've never stayed in a more beautiful place. The artwork is interesting and thought provoking. The colours, light and space is perfect. We stayed in the Flamingo room which I can highly recommend as it is mountain facing and has a huge balcony with a very comfortable day bed on it. The room has all the amenities, a wonderful and comfortable bed and bathtub with mountain views, full length mirror, iPod docking station, heated floors, and excellent design. The breakfasts and high tea were superb. The staff went out of their way to make our anniversary really special in every way. I felt like I died and went to heaven. Thank you very much for all the attention to detail. We will most definitely be back again!

Room Tip: The Flamingo room looked like one of the most private.

Thank you Lauren - it was fantastic having you and Jonathan stay with us at MannaBay to celebrate your wedding anniversary. MannaBay is just the perfect place for a luxurious stay and to celebrated a special occasion. As you mention the Flamingo room faces our beautiful Table Mountain to view during the day, and then we have the dazzling city lights at night. We have an array of South African art for our guests to purchase should they wish as well as recommending various art galleries for them to view. We are very happy you have wonderful memories and look forward to see you for your next celebration. Warm regards, Justine and the MannaBay team

This house turned into boutique hotel, is out of the way from the attractions, except for table mountain, but it is worth it. It is a stunning place with wonderful rooms, and amenities. Plus the house will provide a driver in the evening to anyplace for dinner, and pickup as well. The breakfast and high tea were wonderful. Absolutely no complaints. The staff are also very helpful with anything. It is expensive, but a lovely experience and place.

Room Tip: We were in the pompom room which is on the first floor by the entrance. This room has its own yard...
