We just happened to stay here on a suggestion from travellers we met in Zimbabwe and they were so right - what a wonderful place! Anne and Bruce went out of their way to help us make the most of the very short amount of time we had there. The rooms were clean and spacious and the breakfast was plentiful. They have an honor system "bar" which was really nice to have access to when we were too tired to venture out at night, but still wanted a night cap. We would definitely stay here again should we have the incredible fortune to find ourselves in Cape Town again! Anne and Bruce - thank you for making our stay in Cape Town the best!

My husband and I spent 5 magnificent nights at this beautiful guest house in October this year. It is a bright, very clean, modern and spacious accommodation with gorgeous high ceilings. Anne and Bruce are absolutely lovely and are the perfect hosts. On our first morning, Anne chatted to us at length and gave us ample maps and information – she provided valuable advice on how we could spend each day and happily booked whatever we needed. We felt like we were staying with friends at the Underberg. Our room had everything we wanted with a comfortable bed, modern bathroom, safe and TV. It was also nice and quiet, we hardly even ran into the other guests!

Breakfast is served in the gorgeous dining room. It was delicious and plentiful, there’s fresh fruit, cereals, toast, spreads and hot breakfast cooked to your liking. The location is great too with plenty of restaurants nearby and it was less than a 10 minute drive to the V&A waterfront. MAKE SURE you book to eat at Miller’s Thumb which is outstanding seafood (mainly) restaurant about a 5 minute walk away from the Underberg. This was a recommendation from Anne & Bruce and I would suggest you eat there early in your stay in case you want to go again another night! They book out quickly so you must ring in advance. The fish was divine – easily the best we’ve had.

Thank you Anne and Bruce for making our stay in Cape Town just perfect :)

The four of us from Australia stayed for two nights. We could have stayed much longer, such was the wonderful service and attention that Bruce and Anne lavished on us, even though they were full at the time. The rooms are large and the beds very comfortable. The breakfasts were excellent
We would definitely stay there again if we came back to Cape Town

We stayed at this beautiful guest house for five nights at the end of October 2013. The rooms were spacious, comfortable and spotless and the owners, Anne and Bruce, were friendly, obliging and full of helpful, knowledgeable advice if you need it. For anybody planning a trip to Cape Town, this is the place to stay.

We just left this wonderful place and hated to leave. We cannot imagine a more perfect setting, residence, home away from home. Ann provided so much advice and assistance. The breakfasts were wonderful.....rooms spotless and cozy. If we could find a way to return from USA every year, this is where we would stay. Don't miss it!

Room Tip: I doubt there are any less desirable rooms. We had room 5 and woke up to beautiful bird songs,

We stayed here for two nights before a cycle tour of the Western Cape and for one night at the end. This is one of the best B&Bs we have stayed in - and would be a great place to stay for anyone visiting Cape Town.

The property is a beautiful building - with spacious rooms and colonial balconies, and superbly decorated. There is a comfortable lounge area as well as a well stocked guest honesty bar.

It is located in a leafy suburb with good restaurants close by and easy access into the City itself - 40 min walk to the Waterfront.

Anne and Bruce are delightful hosts and could not do more to make you welcome on arrival or during your stay - nothing was too much.

Would recommend without hesitation - perfect.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 1 (first floor) and room 9 (downstairs - with a separate lounge) - both were top c...
