I have always enjoyed this place for its great service and cosy feeling.

The food here is fantastic! Great place for fine dining.

I also enjoy the architecture and interior design of the hotel.

A group of 16 of us recently visited the planet restaurant at the Mount Nelson. We sat in the conservatory. Everything was just impeccable, from the chef coming out to greet us and explain the menu to the sommelier pairing a different wine with each dish, and explaining each wine to us. The food was delicious - springbok carpaccio, fillet and a pear torte for dessert. The thing that blew me away was the service - the staff are on the ball and know exactly what they are doing. Highly recommended for a special dinner.

Firstly I was skeptical because I rarely find good food in a hotel. The reviews were good and it was deserved.

The restaurant is a large open space with high ceilings and a galaxy theme. It does have a hotel feel to it.

The staff was very cordial and well timed. The chef did come out to greet and explain the appetizers. The menu was small and precise. The options covered duck, lamb, beef, and fish in nice styles.

The white fish was tender and juicy. The breads served were great. It could have been my dessert. The portions were normal sized and it leaves room for dessert. The flavors of the meal worked well together. Tangy and creamy. It was a great meal.
