“Wonderful boutique hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 November 2012

Loved our stay at this beautifully designed new property just across from the Waterfront area. The hotel has a hip motif, very accommodating , professional staff, and beautifully designed rooms and lobby. The restaurant was very good with an outstanding breakfast included in the room rate. The spa was small but staff were chosen well and I would highly recommend making time for a spa service. The gym was adequate. As a guest here you are able to take advantage of the other hotels in this group which was quite nice when we wanted to relax poolside one afternoon. The staff were warm and did not miss an opportunity to provide exceptional service, surprising me on my birthday with a cake. Luxury, great staff, food, location, and exquisite decor, makes for an exceptional stay in Cape Town.

Arrived to a very warm greeting and taken to our lovely clean and modern room. The staff are the highlight of this hotel and cannot do enough for you. Bobby the manager was extremely helpful throughout our stay, making bookings, recommendations and showing us around. The breakfasts are very good and offer a slightly different twist. If you want a waterside breakfast just go across to the Albert and Victoria -their sister hotel. Although the menu looked good we didn't feel inspired to eat there in the evenings as it seemed very quiet when we visited. Great location just over the road from V&A waterfront. Couldn't fault it and we loved Cape Town!

We stayed at the QV Hotel on our recent trip to Cape Town. We could not have been happier. All the men at the front desk were so welcoming and helpful and always seemed to be genuinly concerned for us to be comfortable. They always had a pleasant "Hello!" or "What can we do for you?" Our Deluxe Room was quite comfrotable and the bathroom with its walk in shower quite large. We had a small balcony and enjoyed a lovely view.
The breakfast each morning, included in our room rate, was beautifully displayed and we could choose from a cold breakfast of cereals, fruits, breads, etc. or combine that with a prepared hot breakfast of our choice. The staff in the restaurant was also quite friendly and efficient. We chose to eat in the restaurant our last night and along with our travel companions thought that it was the best meal we had had in the city! And we had dined at the "famed" Test Kitchen the night before. Bravo to the kitchen.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Cape Town. It is small and located right next to the V and A waterfront. I'm so glad it was our hotel....

Room Tip: Didn't use the spa but can't remove the rating that I posted... I will assume it was a 5 fl...

Queen Victoria Hotel is a clean hotel with great staff in a great location. Rooms and bathrooms were very clean, beds were awesome (like Westin Heavenly beds) with a 5 star breakfast buffet. Everyone was helpful and friendly. Wi-fi was good. Waterfront easily within walking distance. Highly recommended, and would stay there again.

The hotel was very swish and the decor was very stylish ,rooms were plenty big enough lovely bathrooms and nice products . Dinner in dash restaurant was very top notch and not expensive, staff were all very helpful and friendly . The location was perfect right on the water front . I want to mention sylvester at the front desk who went out of his way to help us plan different activities, and made things a lot easier for us . Would I go back again most defiantly

The hotel was excellent. Service was top notch, and the room was spacious. Also loved that they have ample self-parking spots that are all within 100 feet of the hotel. The hotel is boutique-sized, only three floors, and you get individual attention and the staff will remember you. Breakfast buffet was also really good. They accommodated our room request (there is one deluxe room on the third floor that has a balcony and view of the harbor, otherwise I think they're all on the first and second floors).

Location-wise, this place is a great spot to use as your launching pad to explore Cape Town, especially if you're unfamiliar with neighborhoods and are concerned about the safe spots to stay. The location is perfect - right on the V&A waterfront, let's you walk to everything on the waterfront in about 5 minutes, and the walk is perfectly safe and well lit. I thought the V&A waterfront was a little touristy, but it's certainly not a bad place to start. Not far from Camps Bay and Clifton, either, and you can get to Long Street,

Room Tip: there is one deluxe room on the third floor that has a balcony and view of the harbor, otherwise I t...

We spent three nights at this wonderful small hotel in the V&A Waterfront area. Our nice-sized room had both a water view and a view of Table Mountain (at least when the mountain wasn't cloud covered). The bath room was extremely modern and had top of the line amenities. Service was terrific. Anything we wanted, they figured out how to get it for us. (For example, we were trying to track down a store we had visited over 10 years ago and they tracked it down for us.) Breakfasts were large and outstanding -- both a buffet and hot ordered items included. We had dinner there twice and both meals were very good. The chocolate dessert was to die for. Our room had a view of the Cape Grace where we stayed 10 years ago. We loved the Cape Grace, but we loved the Queen Victoria as much if not more!

Room Tip: We booked a deluxe room and asked for a bright room with a nice view. We got all we requested.

The Queen Victoria Hotel is the newest addition to Newmark Hotel’s portfolio, which offers a myriad of ideally located upmarket hotels, other accommodation options and restaurants. What sets this unique five-star boutique hotel apart is the attention to detail given by the creative team responsible for its development, who achieved this through their unwavering passion for awe-inspiring design. From the creative brief of ‘where classic elegance meets contemporary design’, every effort has been made to ensure that the 35-room Queen Victoria Hotel is a haven of calm, luxury and understated opulence amongst the hustle and bustle of Cape Town’s popular V&A Waterfront. The interiors create an ambience of peaceful elegance, through the use of greys and taupes, marble-clad walls, crystal chandeliers, white marble and wooden parquet flooring, not to mention the triple-volume foyer with its dramatic white spiral staircase, glass lift and crystal chandeliers. The signature shade of deep purple has been employed to add a touch of regal eccentricity as an ode to the historic figure after whom the hotel is named. From the food and beverage offering at the hotel’s restaurant and bar, Dash, to the interior aesthetic, the Queen Victoria Hotel embodies a sense of international flair fused with local flavour. The menu at Dash is structured around classic French cuisine, with all ingredients sourced locally and seasonally, while ninety per cent of the interior pieces were sourced from local design geniuses. With a management team and staff dedicated to making every guest feel like royalty, a stay at the Queen Victoria Hotel will certainly exceed your expectation of what five-star luxury should be like. ... more   less
