If you value peace in the midst of busy-ness all around, as well as comfort, space, light, ambience and wonderful bedding, not to mention proximity to a huge variety of restaurants, shopping and other amenities, including a gorgeous spa, then this is the boutique hotel for you. I am very particular, as my long-suffering husband can attest, and this venue ticks all the boxes. Try it: you won't be disappointed.

We stayed at the Queen Victoria and thoroughly enjoyed the room, service and ambiance that the hotel and staff provided. Breakfast was outstanding and the location was perfect in Cape Town. Bobby Pringle could not do enough for us to make our stay wonderful.

Stayed at this special hotel for 5 wonderful nights in January. The rooms and bathrooms are excellent but the best thing is the service. Bobby Pringle the manager went out of his way for us ad the rest of the staff followed. Perfect breakfast. Nice pool area, great location. Would recommend a stay here in a heartbeat.

We stayed 5 nights at the Queen Victoria in early January 2013. We stayed in a premium room (1213) which received several mentions on the TripAdvisor "recommended rooms" list. This was a nice corner room with 3 sets of windows in the bedroom area and a full window in the bathroom. While it was not a suite, it did have a reasonable sitting area and a small loveseat at the base of the bed.

The room had a nice enough view -- table mountain and the harbor from one window and the courtyard (driveway with some gardens) from the other windows. As others have said, because this is small hotel with two floors only, most of the rooms have only partial views.

The service from the hotel staff was excellent. We were greeted and checked-in by Sylvester, who took care of several of our requests during our stay quite quickly. Melissa, the other concierge/staff member, was also great and made reservations for us for every night of our stay at a range of restaurants that we generally liked -- Bukhara (Indian), Beluga (seafood), Carne SA (steak), and 90 Keerom (Italian).

The hotel serves a nice breakfast buffet (smoked salmon, yogurt parfaits, meats, cheeses, pastries) with a hot cooked-to-order option (french toast, eggs benedict, and various egg dishes). Amy in the restaurant treated us quite well.

Our only negative experience with the hotel was at the restaurant for a late lunch one day. My partner ordered braised lamb shoulder and the order took about an hour. Yes, perhaps it wasn't the best thing to order if we wanted a quick lunch, and we certainly received several apologies -- but no order should take an hour.

Room Tip: We had room 1213, which many say is a good choice. It has a partial view of the harbor and table mountain, but has many windows and lots of light.
