Their pizzas are great. Whenever we stay over in a city hotel, we make sure to go eat pizzas there. This time I however decided on pasta. I was a bit disappointed, because my Pasta Verdure was without the promised haloumi and the veggies was over-cooked and over-heated (obviously in a microwave). My wife's pizza was also a bit bland this time around ... Good wine selection, excellent waiters and ambience

Stopped by at Doppio Zero after doing the Spar Ladies race with 5 other ladies. A few of us did the breakfast buffet option & others ordered from the breakfast menu. Best scrambled eggs I've had in a very, very long time! Service was a bit lacklustre but we were all pretty relaxed seeing as we'd just completed a race :-) We sat outside so could enjoy watching the passersby

Right from the outset perhaps i should have taken note of the signs that things were not going to go well. After some 20 odd years in the hotel industry there are certain tell tale signs that can be picked up which will determine the outcome of ones night out. Despite being shown quickly to a table by a waitress and given a menu it took 15 minutes for (a different waiter) to come and get my order, (and i must stress that it was a week night and not at all busy.) I was craving a bolognaise but not with pasta and asked instead to have it with the gnocchi which was served with something else. it took a few attempts to get this across to the waiter but he eventually seemed to understand. i was almost surprised when when it came as i asked. while waiting for the food i was watching the staff and it seemed they were more interested in chatting to friends passing by than attending their guests. they could have started by picking up the litter laying around the place and putting some effort in making the tables outside look a bit more inviting. Sadly the gnocchi was totally overcooked and the sauce lacking any flavor. Still ever the optimist i thought perhaps dessert may improve things and so ordered chocolate brownie and vanilla ice cream. When it came it was without the ice cream and called the waiter and pointed this out only to be told that it does not come with ice cream. after a few minutes of arguing with him, asked to be brought the menu in case i did in fact make a mistake in which case i would admit to it. he returned a few moments later to say that I was in fact correct and he would bring the ice cream. by this time i was well and truly annoyed and could not even be bothered to ask to see a manger, since the entire time I was there i did not see anyone who looked the part or who came to see to me. cant say i would ever be back there, a pity really as i was under the impression that the place is normally pretty good.
