Owner description: The urban park was one of the legacy projects of the FIFA World Cup 2010. The area is adjacent to the Cape Town Stadium and has stunning views of both the stadium as well as Signal Hill. Lovely place to bring the kids to excercise or to have a picnic. It is also a learning experience for young and old. The garden is separated into ‘People and Plants’, ‘Wetlands’ and ‘Discovering Biodiversity’. The park hours are from 7 to 7 with visible security.

“A must-visit place in Cape Town”
Reviewed 6 August 2013

I love this park! I can remember when the area was basically wasteland and it's now been developed into a wonderfully magical place that's educational, entertaining and relaxing to visit. Learn all about biodiversity and more, let the kids play in the amazing playgrounds which have been designed to fit in with their natural surroundings and simply enjoy the setting You'll have fabulous views of Signal Hill, the ocean, the emerald green fairways of the Metropolitan golf course and, of course, the amazing modern stadium build for the Fifa World Cup 2010. Take a picnic and spend some time, you won't believe you're in the middle of a city.

“Amazing park for family and friends”
Reviewed 5 August 2013

Lots of parking, easy to access on the My-Citi bus service.

Place to picnic, jungle gyms for the children to play on, pet friendly (on a leash) and lots of amenities with tapped spring water (free to drink out of the water fountains).... Really could one ask for more??

And then the diversity gardens introduce visitors to some of the biomes of the Western Cape. And if you are fortunate you will catch site of some of the wildlife too!!

“Surprise Treat”
Reviewed 31 July 2013

This Park was across the street (and 2 roads) from our hotel, but it took me days to discover it. There are nice little touches to it - it's mostly a large green space - such as a human sun dial (it was so so strange to see the sun in the Northern Sky!), exercise stations, and a discovery garden. It is located between the new stadium and the esplanade, a delightful walking / running path along the ocean sea walls, and is a 5-10 minute walk to the V&A Waterfront.
