Owner description: The urban park was one of the legacy projects of the FIFA World Cup 2010. The area is adjacent to the Cape Town Stadium and has stunning views of both the stadium as well as Signal Hill. Lovely place to bring the kids to excercise or to have a picnic. It is also a learning experience for young and old. The garden is separated into ‘People and Plants’, ‘Wetlands’ and ‘Discovering Biodiversity’. The park hours are from 7 to 7 with visible security.

This lovely Park and biodiversity garden that has been created near the New Green Point Stadium. There are different themed areas, for example: medicinal herb garden. wetlands area, Fynbos area, cactus garden, and seaside garden. It is both informative and enjoyable. I highly recommend a vist to this park area, as it is relaxing and interesting, to be enjoyed by both children and adults alike.

“well worth the visit”
Reviewed 9 May 2014

an old fashioned picnic site. Clean, well managed, despite their being no entrance charge. They do check that you dont carry any alcohol in, which I thought good. And you cant erect any "structure" such a gazebo or similar. Just looking to chill with the children, very good venue to do it.

“Lovely free park”

This is a lovely free park with loads of activities for the youngsters. Limited shade and can be quite over run with people of the weekends.

“Interesting”

The walk through the park is interesting especially the educational section about the flora. The outdoor gym area is worth a visit if you feel like some exercise.

“Kids LOVE it!”
Reviewed 15 April 2014

Brilliant place for a family outing. Love the atmosphere and fun. Creative jungle gyms are super. Bring own picnic / food / drinks. There is typically an ice cream vendor outside the park, but that's all.
