Owner description: The urban park was one of the legacy projects of the FIFA World Cup 2010. The area is adjacent to the Cape Town Stadium and has stunning views of both the stadium as well as Signal Hill. Lovely place to bring the kids to excercise or to have a picnic. It is also a learning experience for young and old. The garden is separated into ‘People and Plants’, ‘Wetlands’ and ‘Discovering Biodiversity’. The park hours are from 7 to 7 with visible security.

Awesome. Just a leisurely stroll here makes all the difference in the world. went here for a walk with the kids before dinner, and caught a glimpse of the sunset too. kids played in the park while my husband and I enjoyed the views.

and they even have gym equipment.

Greenpoint Urban Park is a nice small little urban park very close to Cape Town stadium and the ocean. It is actually somewhat difficult to find - we had to drive around for a few minutes to find the parking space - but once located it is easy and safe to move around. (Security guards greet you when you enter.) The park has various types of plants and placards about traditional KhoiKhoi diets and lifestyles, as well as discussion about biodiversity. It is a short walk to reach Greenpoint lighthouse and the ocean as well.

the park was establish in an effort to uplift the neglected part of green point when cape town hosted the world soccer cup in 2010 and the new stadium was built on the huge empty grounds.
i remember how sceptical people in the area was and i'm happy the park turned out to be such a great success. it's a wonderful short cut from greenpoint village down to mouille point and the light house. it's open between 7am-7pm. there is great playgrounds for children of different ages and on weekends a lot of the suburbians comes in for pic-nic

The best place in Cape Town to take your kids and family when the weather plays with. The kids park is awesome and has plenty of activities for the little ones to hangout on. There's a path to ride bikes or skate and plenty of lawn for cricket / soccer. You can't NOT go to this place!
