Owner description: The urban park was one of the legacy projects of the FIFA World Cup 2010. The area is adjacent to the Cape Town Stadium and has stunning views of both the stadium as well as Signal Hill. Lovely place to bring the kids to excercise or to have a picnic. It is also a learning experience for young and old. The garden is separated into ‘People and Plants’, ‘Wetlands’ and ‘Discovering Biodiversity’. The park hours are from 7 to 7 with visible security.

“Great outdoors escape”
Reviewed 30 July 2014

We'll conceptualised and designed with great educational as well as recreational value for the family. Lovely children's play parks for different ages and large rolling grass areas. The horticultural aspects are well documented and despite the large volume of people it was relatively clean. Picnic facilities in various places. A great asset to Cape Town.

“Fun for Everyone”
Reviewed 23 July 2014

Beautifully kept, this vast green park and educational centre is a real gem. A great place to picnic with two play areas- one for toddlers and one for older children. Popular for children's parties on the weekends so if you're looking for peace and quiet, go for a stroll during the week.

“Green space in the City”
Reviewed 22 July 2014

Lovely parkland layout including ponds, ducks, water flowers, beautiful grass verges.

plus climbing areas for children who can be observed by concerned parents from their picnic blankets.

Beautifully kept, cleanliness, some wonderful flowers and trees, it is a joy and a stone;s through from Green Point / 3 Anchor Bay / Waterfront.

And a great area to celebrate a picnic with friends which we did and had a fabulous time.

“My best place to cycle”
Reviewed 22 July 2014

I love the urban park. It's on my cycling route most mornings. Amazing to be able to wheel about there and smell the fynbos and see the ducks on the lake at the golf course. A tranquil place that's great for families, runners, cyclists, walkers etc.

“Worthwhile for young and old”
Reviewed 21 July 2014

I thought it very worthwhile, especially the biodiversity display and explanation. We need more parks like this al over the country. It is both educational and fun/relaxing.
