La Grotto is a great little cozy family owned restaurant where ever plate of food gets approved by the owner, Gary.
Good steak and seafood and very reasonable prices with brilliant specials.
Gary is well known in the community for being a great restauranteur.

“Tucked away Cape gem in suburbs of Cape Town”
Reviewed 5 February 2012

As an ex Capetonian visiting my family in December, we decided to go to Liz and Tony at La Grotto ,for one of the ritual things we always do togther. Sitting in the bistro, I was reminded of the many happy family meals and celebrations we had eaten there.Suddenly the thought appeared in my head, how come I have never reviewed this place!
The restaurant ,known for its fish and pepper fillet specialities, always seems to serve really fresh food which lingers on in the mind.Often I have sat there thinking ,this doesn't taste like restaurant food, more like a superb meal cooked by friends. I guess that because over the years, Liz and Tony have developed a clientele who return as much for the delicious food ,as for the warm welcome they extend to their customers.I think its worth a ride to the suburbs to experience this Cape Gem.
