“Great lunch buffet - try the date balls”
Reviewed 26 August 2014 via mobile

Such tasty, healthy, and mostly vegetarian buffet options + a manageable but longish walk from the CBD means I get great food and a little extra sunshine on a lunch break. The lunch rush is chaos and it can be difficult to know what to do at the buffet till someone helps you (it's not self-serve). But the staff are efficient and keep things flowing. Try the date balls. Oh. My. Word.

“Hearty Meal in the City”
Reviewed 17 June 2014

Did some exploring with friends and we decided to have lunch at Sababa, wow, what a great experience! We did the Lunchbox Special (or something similar).
Friendly waitress (sorry, didn't catch your name) and excellent food! I did not get to try the dessert but it looked AMAZING! Will be back! We sat at the back of the restaurant in this little corner with comfy seats and a lot of natural light. Just watch the step.

“tastiest lunch ever”
Reviewed 18 March 2013

sababa bree street is just the best lunch break destination in the City. fast and friendly service. the yummiest food you will ever taste! the chicken with prunes, the tomato and aubergine salad or the sesame crumbed chicken, they all just melt in the month. it's a 10 out of 10 for me. Dont forget to finished it off with some date balls!

“INCONSISTENT QUALITY AND SERVICE”
Reviewed 25 February 2013

The decision to have breakfast at SABABA in Bree Street proved to be mistake. The decision was based on a previous experience, which was wonderful. An inviting breakfast buffet featuring Middle Eastern dishes - fabulous ingredients, inviting colour contrasts and textures.
This morning's offering did not resemble the previous array at all. There were fewer dishes(I arrived an hour after opening time), the herb omelette was greasy and rubbery, the frittata was more milk than egg, many of the salad leaves were yellow and wilted. The two members of staff who were approached, shrugged their shoulders and denied using oil. The coffee, as always, was excellent. Such a disappointment.
If Monday mornings are too difficult, perhaps SABABA should open for lunch only.

“Great Thursday falafel night”
Reviewed 21 December 2012

Sababa is really am absolute treat- their falafels are wonderful and the atmosphere is very inviting- I would highly recommend a visit to Sababa on Bree whether its for a healthy lunch or a Thursday night falafel

The falafel balls are made from scratch at Sababa- and cooked to perfection with a slightly crunchy outside and a soft smooth inside (think savoury Ferrero Rocher). The extra ingredients are interesting and compliment the falafel balls well. I will however in the future chose a plated falafel as it may make for neater eating and less food falling all over!!
