This must be the best Garden Court in the tsogosun group. The service I recieve at this hotel is always outstanding. The breakfast and dinner is always very good and the location of the hotel is perfect.

I stay with the Booysen Family for the weekend and what a relaxing weekend it was.
The service and staff were excellent and friendly, on Saturday they checking up on the rooms confirming if it's clean spotless and I could say yes thank you.
In the dinning room was the staff always checking if everything is okay and clear our tables.
The room and bathroom had all the features you expect ( we slept in room 322) it to have.
The food was of a high quality and so much of a variety.
I can't wait for the new look, well done, I enjoy my stay.
Yolande

not what I expected. Later I heard that they will renovate the hotel and close for several months. This is really necessary. The tiny bath were made in the 1950s? I hate showers in the bath with a shower curtain. Breakfast was ok and the service good.

The service on arrival was outstandingly good. Concierge was particularly helpful and obliging.
The room was acceptable. We did not like having two double beds. One King or Queen size would have been better.
de Waal is very convenient for business and pleasure.
The best part of the visit was the helpfulness of reception staff. We really did not have any criticism of the hotel.

Stayed at Garden court De Waal for three nights and found the hotel to be what I expected it to be, nothing fancy and not in the center of town. the room had been used for a while and the bathroom looked a bit worn bit it was clean and had all the features you expect it to have.
It takes about 20 minutes to walk in to the city center and another 20 to the waterfront area so if you are looking for something close to downtown this is not the place. The upside is that it's less traffic and noise and you are closer to the Table mountain, taxi to the cable car is about R60 from the hotel.
Breakfast was good but not fantastic. did not use the pool but it looked ok.

I checked in on 13 March for a 5 day stay.

Completely disorganised process. Room not ready, wasn't told of facilities and meal times.

Housekeeping very slow, staff unfriendly.

I will NEVER stay here again!
