The Cape Grace is a classy hotel - - great location, terrific staff, excellent food and bars - - what more could a guest want? Well, I cannot give them 5 stars because even though our group had 3 rooms and truly enjoyed our stay, it ended on a sour note because they refused to allow us to depart an extra hour after noon checkout - one hour - to depart! Come on, you must be kidding!!! Even one room would have been sufficient, but instead we sat in the lobby for that hour because they would not accommodate us. In my mind, zero excuse!

However, still a great choice for Cape Town!

This was a splurge for us and was a wonderful place to stay. The room and bathroom were huge and had a separate dressing area. Everything in the room and common areas were beautifully decorated and very clean. The included breakfast included an extensive buffet and you could order from the menu. We also ate dinners in two of the bars (sandwiches and appetizers). It was walking distance to lots of shops and restaurants on the water front.

This is the second time we have stayed at the Cape Grace. It's a lovely property but needs a little modernization. It's overloaded with "tzotchkes." The staff is terrific, very welcoming. Breakfast room service was disappointing, definitely not up to the hotel's standards.

This is a truly wonderful hotel from the excellent service to the exquisite location. The hotel is relatively small but has all the amenities one could ask for. The rooms are elegantly furnished and the view of Table Mountain is perfect. The location on the waterfront gives you access to great shopping and restaurants and it's a short hop to Table Mountain, downtown and the vineyards of Constantia. Excellent!

Cape Grace has a prime position on the waterfront. It has 4 levels. One way looks towards Table Mountain the other where the entrance is towards the local fishing fleet. A clean safe area with lots to do nearby.. If you want a peaceful sleep with your window open the entrance side is definitely not for you. The noise from the street carries as people continually walk past and the noise from the marina will constantly leave you feeling sleep deprived. Disappointing as an enquiry on checkin assured otherwise and a request for a room change after one night was treated with disdain as the hotel was apparently fully booked. For a 5 star hotel their guests should be treated with 5 star respect too. A no no for next time.
