Next to a working drydock is not ideal, but the view of the yachts in the marina was great. Stayed at room 2 on the ground floor an still had good views. The waterfront is a very nice area to walk around and the nice two cars of the hotel will take you to town and bring you back for free. Remember to book in advance. Nice big luxurious rooms with all you need including iron, ironingboard and sowing kit. Champange with the great breakfast is always a big +.
For the environment, no plastic bottles but they clean the towels all the time. A bit hard to understand. Excellent service from all staff.

Room Tip: Agree with others. Backside is best, and the higher the better.

The Cape Grace has managed to combine old world charm with all the modern amenities a traveller could ask for! The ability to book the hotel car and driver to go sightseeing or just shopping was an extra, unexpected treat. The room was lovely overlooking the inner yacht harbour, quiet and peaceful. The room was spacious and had a separate dressing area and a separate bathroom with both a shower and large soaker tub. The breakfast buffet was extremely varied and the ability to order "hot" to order off the menu was an added bonus. Dinner one evening in the hotel was also excellent. The staff were extremely professional, helpful and friendly in a courteous way. The hotel's location on the V&A waterfront is perfect for restaurants and shopping. I would recommend this hotel very highly

Room Tip: A room overlooking the inner harbour is quieter than on the front of the hotel

In very simple words it is a nice place with excellent environment of the hotel. The way the interiors are designed really makes it adorable for all the guests and it really is very good. Overall it is a very decent stay with affordable rates and good value for money.

I've stayed in luxury hotels before but none has impressed me more. The room is very nice as well as the restaurant, breakfast and location on the Waterfront. But the staff is what makes a difference for me. Amable and professional, everyone made us feel wellcome and well attended. Simply perfect!

The Cape Grace is one of the finest hotels we've ever stayed in. The hospitality is top notch. We had a two bedroom suite which was beautiful with a balcony overlooking the working port. Room included breakfast - which if you went to the dining room was a gorgeous buffet with the option to order off of the menu OR you could get a full menu in-room breakfast. We chose the latter most days and ate on our terrace. It's the only hotel we've stayed in where all room service was perfect. The staff is incredibly friendly and all knew our names. They had a sweet welcome gift for our two girls. The concierge department is knowledgable. There is a hotel driver whom we used often and was friendly and knowledgable as well. Just a great place to stay!

We did a lot of research before we decided on Cape Grace having stayed in Cape Town twice before. Overall the standards were high and the level of service high. All the staff were very friendly and professional and the hotel has an old school charm about it excellently located near the Waterfront. However at these premium prices it's the small things that make a difference.
We asked for a table luxury room with a view. We were given a room on the ground floor overlooking the Marina with a boardwalk outside which was noisy. There is also a bar which was very busy but open to the public so as guests there's no priority in terms of seats.
The hotel seemed focused on Corporate events rather than as individuals -it didn't feel we were particularly valued. Seems to cater for U.S guests largely , who tend to be the majority.
We were celebrating an anniversary but the hotel did not acknowledge this which was slightly disappointing.
Breakfast was very good and the front desk and concierge exceptional.
Overall a good hotel, busy and well located. Very professional staff but feel it's going through the motions in terms of individual guests v corporate business guests which is where the focus seemed to be.
Nothing overly wrong just didn't have the wow factor we were expecting and the room was disappointing.

We stayed for the fourth time for two nights at the end of our holiday to South Africa, having stayed for the first time at Cape Grace in 1998, when the Waterfront area was a rather different place.
Having done our adventurous travelling we just wanted some quality downtime prior to our return home. The Cape Grace provided this in full. The service we received was outstanding from all departments, in particular the front door team, concierge service and room services. Fortunately for us,although the pool area is small, it never got very crowded as most guests disappeared for their day's out leaving us to enjoy the location and poolside service.
We did however manage to stir ourselves sufficiently to wander around the Waterside complex which is within the secure area and feels very safe, even late in the evening.
We did not eat in the restaurant, apart from breakfast so can make no comment.
We prefer the rooms overlooking the marina and Table Mountain; they are worth the extra money. Sitting on the balcony in the late afternoon looking across the marina and City to the mountain top, with or without its tablecloth, is a wonderful experience.
