“Best Hotel Experience in Cape Town”
Reviewed 31 May 2014 via mobile

We had the pleasure of staying at Cape Grace for three nights while visiting Cape Town back in May. We stayed in a Table Mountain view room, which has really incredible daytime views of the mountain as well as the Marina.

Needless to say the service was impeccable and the accommodations were very comfortable. In fact the linens were SO Incredible that I am in the process of trying to find the maker (apparently it's custom made). Furthermore the entire hotel has different decor on each floor which makes each area very unique. The room was very clean and had a lot more space than we are used to at a 5 star hotel.

The food at the hotel restaurant (Signal) was also very good and is well known in Cape Town. Around the VA Waterfront area it is probably the best one you will find. Although My wife and I felt extremely underdressed with our hiking pants and shirts.

They also offer high tea in the afternoon Just in case you needed some chocolate cake and tea to make it though the day (who doesn't?).

The location is extremely convenient for most of the sites and sounds of Cape Town and the staff at Cape Grace are very well connected with the touring industry so it's very likely that any guide you book with the hotel will be top notch. One of my guides mentioned that when Cape Grace tells her to jump, she asks "how high?".

Cape Grace truly is then best full-scale hotel in Cape Town. Barring the more boutique hotels like ellerman, You will not find a better experience. Highly recommended and thank you Cape Grace for a wonderful experience.

we stayed four nights in this hotel . rooms were big and had an excellent view of the marina as well as the table mountain .
rooms are very comfortable and small things like kids slippers and bath robes add the x factor to this hotel .
concierge services were outstanding and very good recommendations were given . the hotel has its own fleet of bmw cars which the guests can use within 10 kms distance . very helpful while in cape town .
service is what sets this hotel apart from the other hotels , from the reception to the doorman , everyone is friendly as well as professional in their approach .
location is perfect , close to the waterfront , cruise piers .
must stay for everyone visiting cape town .

After several years away from the Cape Grace Hotel it was great to return and find that if possible, it was better than I remembered.

Comfortable rooms with astounding views of Table Mountain, excellent service and great food are just to name a few of its attributes.

The Concierge Services were the best I have ever experienced at any hotel in the world, no request to much and a fantastic friendly and professional attitude.

The proximity to the waterfront, restaurants, the cruise pier and Table Mountain (complimentary car service included) make the Cape Grace the perfect place to stay.

Don't miss the chance if you are ever in Cape Town to experience this experience.

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for a room with the view of Table Mountain

Sorry for the delay in reviewing this hotel, perhaps we waited too long. But since it was one of the best we have stayed in, believe this is warranted. We were here for two nights as part of an eight day, high end, Safari that took us up into Botswana and Zimbabwe via Johannesburg and the Victoria Falls. It was a once in a life time trip and this hotel really kicked off the experience.

We had been on a month long cruise that ended in Cape Town. After disembarking from our ship the Safari guides took us on a little tour of the area then checked us into the hotel. I was impressed when they mentioned that this hotel was the one President Clinton stayed at when he visited Nelson Mandela.

This hotel is first class. The rooms were excellent and the dining room and meals were as well. No part of the visit had a blemish. The hotel is situated in an excellent marine environment where shopping at small stores and what not around this classy waterfront boat harbor area is a lot of fun. A very safe and relaxing neighborhood.

What really impressed my wife though was a happening the first late afternoon after we booked into the hotel. We wanted to go up to Table Top mountain on the cable car but didn't know how to go about it. Plus, the table cloth (fog blanket on top) was covering it, due to that the ride had been shut down, so the word was anyway. (We had other tour commitments the next day so this was our only shot.) We were down in the lobby about 4 or 5 in the afternoon and happened to mention this to the desk. The hotel limo chauffeur overheard our conversation. He came over to us and explained there was a good chance we could make it since at this time of the day the fog moves in and out up there. Fine, but how do we get to the cable station from here and back. He said, "hop in", I'll take you and if you make it give me a call when you get back down and I'll pick you up. Free. It worked and the fog stayed away during our brief visit to the top. Plus, the limo was a leather upholstered top of the line model, Mercedes. Needless to say, the chauffeur got a fat tip from us upon return.

We enjoyed four nights in this extraordinary hotel prior to us embarking in a Cross Atlantic cruise. The hotel was in the best location for our delightful stay in Cape Town. Room with all the necessities and luxuries you will find in the best hotels, we had an explendid view of Table Mountain from our window-balcony. Breakfasts and supper tops... Staff courteous and amicable to the extremes... Super great place!

Stayed here several times and tried the other luxury alternatives in Cape Town, this outdoes the lot and ticks every box. Located within the V&A gives it a very safe feel yet you can walk around after dark. Small enough to be intimate, but with scale to deliver the essentials. The pool is small but private and comfortable. The rooms are perfect with considerable natural light and nice views over the harbour and mountains. A winner all round.

Loved this graceful, beautifully appointed hotel. Stayed 4 nights overlooking the marina and the mountain (which was clear for three of the days). Great, safe place to stay right on V & A.
The restaurant was first class and the food was delicious.
Room was spacious and elegant, with everything working.
Would go back in a heart beat
Book the hotel BMW to go to the mountain
