I stayed here for 2 nights with my sister, and parents during a break to Cape Town. My dad has stayed at this hotel many times before and he rates it as one of the best in the world.

Decor is traditional and beautiful, rooms are pristine, location couldnt be better, and the service is first class. Attention to detail on all areas is like no other hotel. Nothing at all was too much trouble for any of the staff members. They could not have done any more to have made our stay the best ever! So good in that my parents returned to stay a further 4 nights at the end of their holiday.

Breakfast has a huge variety of choice and the food was fantastic. The Sugar buffet which is served daily in the library was our highlight.

Although expensive to stay...worth every penny in my opinion as you clearly get what you pay for here. This hotel and its customer service is one of a kind! I hope to return one day very soon. Can't praise this hotel enough!!

This is a modern hotel with a mellow interior with excellent staff for whom nothing is too much trouble. The setting is basically quayside with easy walking access to really good restaurants and uninspiring shops within a huge complex of malls. The breakfasts were up to the standard expected of such a hotel. We chose to eat dinner in the hotel one of our 5 nights; the food was good but service so slow that a neighbouring local diner settled for what she ate and left! We were in no particular hurry but the otherwise good meal lacked any rhythm; the maitre d' was acutely aware of the deficiency and graciously deducted the drinks and coffee. The bedrooms were well serviced and the concierge service was excellent. There are 2 high-end BMWs with excellent and interesting chauffeurs who will take you free withing 20 km and look after the return journey as well. The poolside area was small but we found it perfectly adequate. It would not compare with the space of the Mount Nelson which has its own atmosphere; we preferred the fresher feel of the Cape Grace. On arrival, the Red Bus tour is essential for orientation. Of the various places we visited, the Transplant Museum at the Groote Schuur was really superb; we booked for the 5pm tour and had the Curator to ourselves! Personally we felt 5 nights were sufficient before our next stop at Franschhoek.

Stayed here for 4 nights in February and everything was perfect. The check-in was efficient and friendly and from that point, all the staff went out of the way to be helpful. The staff who attended the room were fantastic as were the staff in the restaurant where we enjoyed breakfasts and 2 dinners. Wish we could have stayed longer................

Everyone who worked at the hotel was extra friendly and greeted us by name each time we passed. Their smiles and warmth were contagious and we started greeting them by name also. We stayed for six days and I wished we could have stayed longer.

My wife and I were recently fortunate enough to stay in the Cape Grace for 5 nights. It was a faultless experience and we will be returning. Possibly the best hotel ensemble I have ever encountered - the staff make your stay an absolute pleasure. Treat yourself !

Perfection cannot be improved upon!
We stayed just this month at the Cape Grace at the start of our tour of South Africa.
What a start to an amazing holiday.!
We had room 417 Roof terrace and the view amazing. The room was large and I liked the separate wardrobe and dressing area.
The bathroom was very luxurious with excellent quality toiletries including fabric wash!
We eat in the hotel on 2 evening occasions. The food was outstanding in particular the taster menu which was excellent value for money too.
The hotel has the most amazing decor and is different on each floor. Go in the lift and step out at each level and you will find a different theme. Our floor was nautical with the most amazing display cases containing blue china antiques. Also take a look at the lighting...truly inspirational and outstanding.
But what really makes the hotel is the staff and the service they provide. From the moment we arrived and I forgot to bring the keys for my locked suitcase( a man arrived in 5 minutes and cut them off for me and offered to fetch some more) to the staff in the restaurant and of course front of house. Housekeeping was thourough and discreet.
Used the laudray service and items returned same day and very well cleaned and pressed.
We were treated to a special one- to- one wine tasting as it was our anniversary ( we had lots of treats and suprises by the hotel too because of this which were much appreciated). If you have time, do the wine tasting and not the orientation tasting as the tasting is so well done. We sat around the pool at 6pm trying new wines wathcing the sunset with a very informative wine expert at the hotel. He did not make us feel inadequate at our lack of knowledge on South African wine but instead we felt enlivened at the new tastes we experienced.
I could go on and fear I have already, so if anyone would like more on the hotel please feel free to contact. (or the Pezula Resort, Shamwari Game Reserve, Tsala Tree tops and Camps Bay where we also stayed.)
Otherwise if you are still unsure to which hotel to choose as we were...go to the Cape Grace. You will not be disappointed.

Lovely, understated elegance and comfort. Outstanding restaurant - with incredibly reasonable prices. The breakfast buffet was amazing and included an assortment of fruit both known and exotic, but all absolutely delicious. The Library in the hotel offered a den-like setting with fireplaces, sofas, and overstuffed chairs and, after dinner, a variety of ports and sherrys, on the side table of the room where you can help yourself. Excellent location to shopping, the port, and the wonderful craft market. Great spa with large windows that look out on Table Mountain. Rooms and baths are oversized so plenty of room to move around and relax. The staff and service was outstanding. Cannot say enough wonderful things about this property and highly recommend it. Its a great first stop in Africa to relax and explore, before going on to a safari. Cape Town is one of the world's most surprising and versitile cities with extraordinary beaches, 35 golf courses surrounding the cities, most designed by top PGA players and also PGA rated, the wine region within a 1/2 hour drive in one direction and the southern-most tip of Africa in another.
