“Truly a Leading Hotel of the World”

We spent 4 nights in this beautiful hotel located at the Waterfront in Cape Town. We were on our honeymoon and really wanted to stay at this hotel, it was our first choice. The service was impeccable from the very warm welcome on arrival to the check out. We were upgraded to a very large room (maybe a junior suite) with a spectacular sea view. Champagne in the room and sweets to accompany. The room itself had all the comforts one would expect in a 5-star hotel and the housekeeping service was very efficient. Breakfast was breathe-taking: definitely the best I have ever experienced. A never ending buffet with everything you could wish for and more. The common areas were all very clean and very prettily decorated with beautiful floral decorations. Security was of a very high standard and you needed to exhibit your room key before accessing the elevators that were activated by the key itself. We felt very safe, even though the waterfront area seemed full of tourists and no danger was felt at any stage, even at night-time. Free-access to internet and very helpful staff attended the business point. Smiling faces at all times throughout all the hotel made this stay a very special one and we will keep this in our heart forever.
Thank you Table Bay for the stay of a lifetime.

Room Tip: Corner rooms with sea-view are a must.

Great location in V&A Waterfront.

Well appointed and facing table mountain.

Beds are comfortable. Nice sized bathroom. More TV channels than most.

Attentive staff and service. Secure environment.

I stayed at the Table Bay as part of an end-of-cruise arrangement for one night. The room was lovely, of the large scale 5* variety, clean, tidy and strategically strewn with rose petals. The stand-out for me was (a) the cappuccino at breakfast (after 3 weeks at sea, it tasted pretty good!) and (b) the concierges, Maryanne and Jacqui, who went out of their way to chase down my rental car which the rental firm had failed to deliver as promised. Rectifying this situation took quite a few calls, and both concierges made a point of following up on a regular basis until the car eventually arrived.

My colleagues and I had a half-week stay in Cape Town, so most of us chose the Table Bay for our hotel. Based on the rest of the V&A Waterfront, we had high expectations for this hotel, and they were largely met. The staff were extremely helpful in arranging tours or just providing information. The breakfast had a vast and imaginative selection. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable. If you're looking for a top shelf hotel, this is a perfect example.

This place is over the top.
We had some issues with leaving a wallet in the safe of our previous location and they went above and beyond to have it flown in from Johannesburg for us.
As you can imagine, we were having kittens.
They were right on it.
We have a room overlooking the bay...stunning wall of windows top to bottom.
Fresh flowers in the lobby were so welcoming and perfume of heaven.
Even the nuts in the bar were just perfect.
Located right on the bay within steps of the entertainment areas.
Very expensive in SA terms - but affordable with cdn$

Room Tip: Ask for the bay view - can't be beat.

This hotel is large and definitely geared at the international tourist we had a one bedroom suite which was enormous! Every day different edible treats are left in the room which is a nice touch. I cannot fault the service - I had ripped a favourite shirt and asked housekeeping if they could recommend a seamstress and they said no problem we do that in house - oh the joys of hotel living ! Breakfast as mentioned by previous reviewers is excellent. The only let down is the pool area it is quite small and felt like a pool on a small cruise ship but I guess most people who go to cape town and stay here are out each day sight seeing so don't do much lounging around the pool as it definitely feels like it was an after thought. I don't know why but I just can't get enthusiastic about this hotel the service is good, the amenities outstanding location excellent they go the extra mile to make guests feel welcome yet I just felt indifferent to it - I think it lacked ambience.

This resort was wonderful and a great choice when visiting Cape Town. It is located right at the waterfront and has an attached mall with a lot of restaurants and shops. We could also walk to the on and off tourist bus, the aquarium and the craft markets. Our room was overlooking both the harbor and table mountain and had plenty of room and lots of closet space. The bed was extremely comfortable and the sheets were soft with different pillow choices. Every evening we were brought delicious appetizers, desserts and baked goods. We became obsessed with the South African Nougat candies that housekeeping left for us each evening with our "turn-down" service. They were delicious. The breakfast was unbelievable and included with our stay.
The buffet had every breakfast item imaginable including a Japanese breakfast with sushi. The buffet filled 2 rooms. My favorite part of the hotel was the staff, management and guest service areas. Everyone who works at this hotel is so competent, pleasant, helpful and accommodating; always available to meet our every need and help with tours and dining reservations. Last but not least, the housekeeping was meticulous and the hotel was spotlessly clean. Housekeeping staff came several times per day. The interior of the hotel was very comfortable and might be considered warm contemporary. We loved this hotel and look forward to returning to Cape Town soon and will choose Table Bay to stay in again.
