“Excellent Hotel-Great Views”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 May 2012

We loved Table Bay Hotel. The facility is beautiful and located on Table Bay. The staff was friendly and available. The lobby has a 40 foot ceiling of floor to ceiling windows on the bay. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. Turn down service included rose petals and slippers by the bed. Don't miss the breakfast because it is a huge array of foods to meet any taste, fruit, salads, omelet station, waffle station, carved meat, and endless coffee. The hotel is connected to a great mall. We ate dinner at an Italian place,[ Berducci?] and it was wonderful. Table Bay is convenient to the ferry to Robben Island and the World Cup Soccer Stadium. Loved it.

table bay is a great hotel and in easy reach of fabulous shops and eating places. No having to be careful as you shop as you can just pop back to your hotel room, drop the bags and go shop again. the rooms are lovely, the staff are brilliant, the food was fantastic and really cant fault it at all. the views of the mountain (when weather permits) are great and you certainly cant fault this property. i will be back

Room Tip: the breakfasts are awesome and the afternoon tea too. dont miss it. ask for rooms facing the water...

Table Bay takes so good care of you for a mostly business hotel. Food and service is impeccable. Hotel is conveniently next to the V&A waterfront for more restaurants and lots of shopping. V&A area is very safe & well-patrolled as is the Table Bay. Beautiful views from the rooms. Rooms are good sized and well taken care of for such a busy place. Highly recommended for Cape Town.

We stayed here for a week and loved every moment of it. The staff were extremely accommodating and no request was too much trouble. When we checked in, we discovered that our request, on booking, for a mountain facing room had not been met. We queried it and after some checking, had this request fulfilled. I'm glad we followed this up because the mountain facing room, with views of the harbor, Waterfront and the imposing Table Mountain was truly stunning. Breakfast was included and I have to say it is one of the hotel industry's great breakfasts. The range of dishes, both hot and cold is staggering but even better, the quality of the produce just leaps out at you. Together with polite and attentive service, champagne and coffee, could anyone really ask for more? The location of this hotel, right in the heart of the Waterfront is also unbelievable. You could literally walk to some of the best sights, cafes, bars etc from your room.

This is a marvellous hotel, the views are specatacular of Table Mountain. It is within easy walking distance to the marina and the hustle bustle of shopping, restaurants and excursions. The location on the marina makes everything reachable.
The hotel orgnanises tours and they are worth doing - there are many choices from winery to township to Robben Island. You must do Robben Island its a journey to modern and recent history.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor - and be aware that if you are Marina facing you may be looking a large boat!

Stayed for three nights on a business trip, The quality of the hotel and courtesy of all the staff was excellent, couldn't wish for more. With a beautiful view of table mountain from my room as well. The superior standards of room service and food, with breakfast and afternoon tea was an experience not to be missed, absolutely excellent.

The only slight annoyance was the frequency of the unprompted room service checks. On a couple of occasions during an afternoon nap having missed the 'knock' and finding someone entering my room !

My wife and I stayed here on our trip to South America and Zimbabwe.  In summary, this hotel has excellent service, a grand (complementary) breakfast buffet, clean and spacious rooms, and ideal location ( on the waterfront, connected to the mall).

From the moment our taxi dropped us off in front of the total to the moment we stepped into our room, someone from the hotel was always with us.  We were escorted inside the hotel from the valet parking area to the front desk.  The lady a the front desk quickly checked us in and then another lady gave us a quick tour of the hotel and escorted us to our room, talking to us about the amenities of the total and room.

Internet - as part of your stay at Table Bay hotel, you get a 200 MB of complementary wireless Internet / day.  And, you can connect mo than one device, which was nice for researching restaurants and local attractions.

Room - the room is very spacious. We had a normal king room on the 6th floor.  The bathrom is very, with a separate shower and soaking tub. Also, the toilet has a separate door, which is convenient if more than one person has to get ready at the same time,

Security - A nice touch is that there is a security guard on the lobby floor asking for key cards before giving access to the rooms. And, it appeared that every floor had a security guard, so you feel very safe.

Breakfast buffet - where d I begin, the buffet is very very large.. You have an abundant of things to choose from.. They have duck, various fishes, cereals, many fruits, many juices, made to order waffles and omletes, meats, assortment of breads, oysters, and man hot dishes.  I was surprised that they served duck, oysters, and various fish for breakfast. My wife and I loved it.

Concierge - the concierge were very helpful. They helped m wife and I book our reservations for lunch and dinner at the nearby restaurants.  They also helped us arrange transportation to the restaurants we went to.  Please see my other reviews about the places we ate.

Transportation - for a small fee, you can book the hotel car to make you places. If you are at all concerned about safety of taking cabs, you can elect to take this option,  we typically took cabs everywhere, but we made sure to take cabs from hotels - not from the side of streets, etc.
