“Nice hotel, located within easy reach of everything”
Reviewed 28 May 2013

This is a great hotel and what you see in the pictures is what you get when you arrive. A nice, clean and spacious room with a double bed, large sofa and tv. The hotel itself is located opposite the aquarium and just a few minutes walk from the waterfront. The breakfasts are served buffet style and are very good in terms of choice, as are the lunch buffets. The hotel staff are very friendly, one thing to watch out for is that as it it is relatively new the sat nav doesn't take you directly to the car park, this is located just on the other side. There is a taxi rank just 2 minutes from the front of the hotel as well as the big tour bus stop which is very handy. All in all a great hotel which is well situated.

Pleasantly surprised with the comfort and decor of the room. Very modern, spacious and bathroom had shower and separate bath. As our room faced east, over the courtyard, we had the morning sun streaming in which was an added plus. Only negatives, we were given the incorrect room as it was already occupied, safe had to be unlocked by a staff member which took over half an hour and three phone calls to have sorted out.
An envelope containing dinner vouchers for two at their Time Out Cafe were an added bonus.
Would definitely recommend for a no frills stay in an excellent location within easy walking distance of the waterfront..

My wife and I stayed here for one night to avoid the late night drive home and the traffic after the Bon Jovi concert at the Cape Town Stadium. Excellent location, a 10-minute walk from the Stadium and overlooking the Two Oceans Aquarium and Waterfront if they are on your agenda. Staff are friendly and helpful, one of the porters took us on a quick tour without any prompting to show us the features of the old prison which the Hotel formerly was!
Rooms are a quite small but fine for a couple of nights. The breakfast buffet is excellent but not cheap so really stock up if you are planning a day of exploring all the area has to offer. Good value and we would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is actually part of Cape Town Business School, but is actually perfectly fine for a few days stay in Cape Town. My room was modern and clean, and the price included a great breakfast spread, including chef cooked eggs anyway you like them. I did have a problem with the (so-called) inclusive wifi access, which was cut off after 3 days of a 5 day stay. I never got to the bottom of why this happened, just waffle about technical problems. My room was quite nice with a view out to the street at ground level. This was after firts being allocated a room without a view, and also someone had been smoking in there.
The hotel is close to the Waterfront area which is a very touristy place (in a good way). It's safe to walk round here at any time, which i wouldn't do in the city itself.

Room Tip: Suggest check out the room you get allocated before agreeing to it.

Stayed here for a week with work. there was a few issue when checking in, as they tried to put me and a colleague into 1 double suite, once rectified they tried to add on 'specail' charges that funny had to be paid in cash there and then, but soon disappeared as a good will gesture when I asked to chat to the manager with a copy of their charge/price sheet.
eventually we was being escorted to our rooms by a very enthusiast porter, we crossed the court yard to the second building (were the rooms are) and discovered we had to walk through a university hallways as the hotel is build on top of 1 of cape towns finest uni's.
so after saying hello to students as we wondered through, little jet lagged, we found ourselves on the second floor where the porter started to drop cases of his trolley, 2 of which are worth over £1000 each of kit, so carrying said cases our selves we found our room .. and wow they where great, ultra modern and far more then we expected!!
So port hands (and continues to drop) my baggage off, decides he has to explain how a shwer works and the kettle, smiles and sticks hand out .. I smile .. give him tip (which was) "very helpful not to drop baggage continuously, specially when very expensive contents!" gave 2rand (£1.20)

Restaurant!! .. it's the university canteen!! .. don't waste your money or time, as you're 5mins walk from the VA waterfront full of café, restaurants and bars (reasonably priced and the food is great)

Be careful when checking in if you boked online from overseas, as they do try and pull the wool over your eyes(quite apparant after a week of chatting with other guests)

The beds are not comfortable and the pillows are too thick. None of us slept well, The latches on the windows were broken. There was a shower curtain in lieu of a shower door to the shower. This is terrible and a detail that went out with Noah's Ark. It would be an inexpensive but dramatic improvement to fit proper shower doors. The TV was not tuned properly - poor picture quality
