The rooms, the staff and the food at the Premier Manor Hotel is always excellent. It is always a pleasure coming to stay in Cape Town when one receives this type of service. The location is ideal in close proximity to the V&A Waterfront and some great restaurants. To be able to stroll out of the hotel onto the promenade for late afternoon walks or early morning runs is so convenient.

Room Tip: Not always easy to get because they are so popular but a sea facing room is fantastic

Visited anticipating a 4 star accomodation. Arriving, I was to have a sea facing room, however received a "wall facing". Room was not made up after my first night and the front desk just commented, we will speak to the staff with little care. Breakfast is great, however the rest is a relatively standard hotel. Definitely only 2 - 3 star accomodation at max.

Lovely location opposite the ocean, but very variable service & non-existent staff supervision. Very lax management, hotel not up to 4* standard. Some reception staff & carvery chefs quite surly and unhelpful. Food often cold and meat tough, unusual for SA where food is generally excellent. Bedrooms adequate, but bathrooms tiny and poorly designed - no space for toiletries.

Room Tip: Ask for sea view, other rooms face a wall.

Location is slightly away from V&A waterfront(5min taxi), but who cares? Spending the entire day touring around Cape Town leaves little time other than sleeping at the hotel. Our room had a pleasant view of the ocean and it was more than adequate, although the washroom was a bit tight. Breakfast was buffet style and reasonably good. Chris? the manager was very friendly and helpful, making sure our stay was enjoyable. Not a luxury hotel for pampering. Condition of the room and furnishings was quite good. Not a touristy location like V & A waterfront.

Whilst showering the water just stopped, lathered in soap I got out of the shower to contact reception, they said they will look into it. I waited a couple of minutes and the water came back on only to stop again whilst in the processing of washing my hair. Went through the same process again and notified reception again of this and they said they would once again look into it. Water came back on and I managed to finish showering. When wanting to brush my teeth before going to bed, guess what, no water. I phoned the bar and purchased via room service two bottles of still water and used this for brushing my teeth and to have water on hand during the night due to no tap water (safe to drink).

At breakfast I saw a management member and mentioned the water problem to him, he was very apologetic and even mentioned "breakfast is on us" to which I replied that this was not necessary, all I wanted was for them to fix it as I was to still staying another night and did not want to go through all of this again. I had a lot of business work to catch up on so was working in my room when the maintenance guys came to fix the problem. I am very happy for them to have come to fix it but am now frustrated as they have been hammering and banging on pipes for almost two hours now already making it very difficult for me to concentrate and work, hence now taking the time to write the review. Time will tell if and by when this is rectified. Other than this, the rooms are clean and tidy and staff are very friendly and helpful. Was disappointed when still having to pay R50.00 for undercover parking or R20.00 to park outside

Room Tip: Should you want a sea view, I suggest you ask otherwise you may be looking into the back of another...

The location is only average as the V&A is a bit far to walk and at night not reccommended at all. The room was a bit scrappy and very average. The parking? What parking. The service was average. The breakfast was average as was the dinner menu which we did not try. The hotel looks and feels old and the only thing not average was the pricing which was slightly above average. For the money you can do better in Sea Point.

Room Tip: A sea view but it will cost

We had the pleasure of staying in the hotel during a mid week. The welcome received from Rifqa at reception was amazing. We were given a suite on the eight floor (if your budget allows, ask for room 802, 3 or 4) the view was amazing. The suite had floor to roof windows that allowed maximum exposure to the sea view. Large sliding door/windows allowed you to bring the ocean into the room through sight, sound and smell. The rooms were very well appointed and the bathrooms a high standard. The staff are always friendly and enthusiast to assist. I would most certainly return and also encourage family and friends to visit.
