I stayed in the Vic Junction for a weeks work in Jan 2012.
I've stayed in the Cape a few times and this time was the best. We were booked in by the client, so I can't say I chose the hotel.
The location is a walk from the Waterfront, which is Westfields-on-Sea, but with better food.
The hotel offers a City location, which is good for a base in the Cape. There is a pool- more for training, since it's narrow and long. Two people couldn't swim side by side. But there is an incorporated sun-deck which is nice. It's about 50m from the hotel. There are no trees or gardens with this hotel.
Service, food, cleanliness are all great. Evening meals are buffets but since there are 5star restaurants around the corner, you wouldn't eat in the hotel anyway- except for breakfast.
The room location is important, half face the busy road and half, the back car park.
I also heard some noise from other rooms, so sound insulation isn't great.
I'd recommend this Hotel, but then Cape Town in january is hard to beat. It's now June and I'm watching the "winter" rugby and it's still better than the UK!More
