We were attending a conference at the adjacent convention centre and stayed at the Westin for 7 nights. Check-in and check-out were friendly and efficient and the room was spacious with a walk-in wardrobe, functional in-room safe and a large bathroom with heated floor! There is free WiFi but it can be a bit slow. The breakfasts in the Executive club on the top floor are great with fantastic views. Lunch service in the restaurants can be a bit slow especially if there are large conference groups so get there either early or later if you can. The location is great for its proximity to the city and the Waterfront precinct. Overall, a pleasant stay.

next door to CT Convention Center and 2 min to Waterfront - makes it a really good choice for both biz and pleasure stay in CT. The only 1 negative (surprisingly) thing was really bad Internet connection both in the room and biz center - it doesn't harm the pleasure part, but is devastating for biz one.

I recently stayed at Westin Capetown. The final night i was packing to leave I noticed that a small black case containing 2 passports had been removed from my bag. (The in-room safe did not work and the bags had sat in the storage room for 15 hours the day of my check-in). Statements given to both their security manager and police. The replacement costs including Emergency Travel document and 3 extra days in South Africa totaled around USD$1,500. The non-tangible costs were 1 of lost business meetings around Asia while I awaited new passports and visas. Not surprisingly middle management who conducted the internal review found that The Westin held little responsibility but admitted some liability by offering *"1 free night" stay in their hotel (why would I want to go back)?
Senior Management, although notified, have so far failed to respond.
Ironically The Westin who did assist with booking another Starwood Hotel near the consulate where I had to get new travel documents were helpful. This until the rate I was charged was 40% dearer than could be found on common hotel booking sites. So Starwood went on to profited quite nicely from the whole debacle.
I stay in hotels 250 nights per year this is the first and only hotel i have had items stolen.
Beware!

*I was not seeking full reimbursement just a "fair sharing" of some the costs incurred particularly after the hotel rate near the embassy was found to be well above market price.

Dear Scott294217

Once again, we would like to offer our sincere apologies for your recent experience. We take an accusation of theft in our hotel very seriously. The Westin has strict policies and guidelines in place to ensure that incidents such as this are treated with the utmost priority and a full and thorough investigation was conducted.

Although the formal procedure into the loss of your property has been finalised, we will continue to work closely with the police should any further information arise.

We do pride ourselves on our exceptionally high standard of service and I do sincerely hope you consider visiting The Westin Cape Town again.

We enjoyed this modern and well kept hotel for a week in August with interconnecting rooms for our family of 4. We loved the location and the views and the advantages of the club floor were appreciated - including a great breakfast buffet and evening drinks and snacks. We did a lot of research on hotels in Cape Town and were pleased with our Westin choice. Nice to have car rental on site too. After a week on Safari, the Heavenly beds were heavenly!

We stayed at the hotel as part of a wedding party. Great hotel maybe a bit pricy. The beds were heavenly and the showers very good. The breakfast was just awesome with the young man making some great breakfast freshly made juices. I wish I could buy them in England. The rest of the breakfast was just as good. The staff in the restuarant were absolutely lovely and helpfull. We were 4 in our family and I think the staff in the front lobby were very helpfull and nothing was too much to ask.
