Stayed for 5 days while attending conference at Cape Town conference center. Hotel is very modern and comfortable. I had a room with partial view of ocean. Swimming pool on top floor is amazing with a view over the city and harbor. room was comfortable with coffee/tea/biscuits and good choice on TV. A little expensive compared to other hotels, included breakfast buffet was excellent. Got around the city using efficient and cheap Uber.

Room Tip: ask for ocean view

We stayed at The Westin Cape town along with family. A true five star property with very good service, great ambience and excellent rooms. Location of the hotel is also in the midst of downtown. Our food was arranged by our tour operator but that too was quite good.

Room Tip: Ask for the Bay view rooms.

I spent the best part of a week at the Westin while attending a conference at CTICC. The location is excellent - the hotel is connected directly to the Convention Centre. And the hotel facilities are very good. But the whole experience was somewhat soul-less. A typical up-market convention centre hotel, but without the extra touches that add character and make astay memorable.

The food is good, the rooms are comfortable and spacious, with all that you need (iron, robes, flat-screen TV, hair dryer, coffee & tea, mini-bar, good desk/workspace, large and comfortable bed, great bathroom). The decor is functional rather than stylish and warm. Fantastic views of the harbor and Table Mountain out of my window. And a very good gym, spa and both indoor and outdoor pools.

But, although noting other reviewers' effusive reactions to the great service, I was not overwhelmingly impressed. My stay lacked any special touches. The hotel is a good, high quality one, and a safe bet for nice room, food, location and stay. But really there's nothing over and above this - nothing to make it stand out. Various niggling problems that shouldn't happen at a hotel of this class. The room fridge wasn't working. Four requests to front desk for it to be repaired over the course of my stay went unheeded. Massive construction noise during daytime meant that working and resting in my 10th floor room was impossible between 11 am and 4 pm - and there was no warning of this on checkin. And no response (or even apology) when I requested to move my room further away from the construction. A previous room occupant had clearly been applying nail polish around the bathtub, the remnants of which hadn't been cleaned up (same problem in wash basin, although not sure what the stains were from). So nothing very bad, but much, much less than what I would expect from a hotel of this quality (and price).

Would I return? Yes, if attending a conference at CTICC. Probably no if visiting Cape Town on other business.

Myself and a team of travel consultants had the privilege of staying a night at the Westin hotel - including dinner and breakfast. As a travel manager I conduct a lot of hotel inspections and therefor become very critical of the facilities and services on offer. I am happy to report that the Westin has not only met by exceeded my expectations by far! It not only offer all the qualities and features of a 5 star hotel but offers so much more - for the corporate traveller as well as the holiday maker. The location is perfect. The hospitality & service top class. The food offering at dinner and breakfast unbelievable. It caters for everyone tastes. The rooms are very comfortable and well equipped. The SPA out of this word with the most stunning views! Basically this hotel offers everything and more. Highly recommendable.

A great hotel in a very convenient location with the best service we have recieved on our entire honeymoon. The staff make you welcome and are ready to help no matter what you need! The room was excellent, very comfortable beds, lots of space and an excellent view. It is within walking distance of the V&A waterfront. The restaurant on the 19th floor has great views and even better food. We went back twice! Best place to stay in Cape Town.
