As a constant visitor to this hotel I forget just how wonderful this place is. It is truely a home from home. The staff are friendly and efficient and the location is second to none. Right opposite the ocean and near shops and restaurants. It's a real struggle not to go back every year and I think we will probably give up that struggle!

Spent 4 nights at The Peninsula Hotel with husband and 3 children under 12.
Stayed in a 2 bedroomed luxury unit. Had sea views from bedroom and lounge. Beautiful sunsets in the evening. Ordered room service a few times which was prompt and value for money. Kids swam in heated pool and enjoyed it yet found there was little much else for the kids to enjoy. There is a games room with old arcade machines and a table tennis table.
Suggestion would be that they get some Playstation and Wii machines in rather as the arcade games are rather outdated. Cleaning service was good and could not fault the cleaning of the apartment. Had a Jacuzzi bath in the main bathroom and a separate bathroom with shower next to the kids bedroom down the passage. Liked the flat screen televisions in the lounge and bedroom. Breakfast was good but found that one had to wait a few times for them to replenish the empty dishes. What I did not enjoy was waking up in the morning to find a man on scaffolding right by my window, maintenance was being done during our stay. Will be returning in April 2011.
A great place to go.

Have been going to The Peninsular for years & found it up to scratch, as usual. Well cared for, courteous staff and well equipped. The units at the end of the building have mountain & sea views - breathtaking! There is continuous improvement at the hotel e.g. the practical addition of facilities in the lounge/dining area. This is an elegant resort.

The hotel is close to the ocean, one just needs to cross a road. The hotel is quiet and offers a lot of space. The rooms are massive, clean and nicely equipped but need modernisation. Internet connection is not free and making connection to the internet is not easy. Breakfast suits all needs and the staff is friendly and always willing to help. Sleeping quality is superb, although the extra living room offers a lot of extra space. The patio is spledid and the garden that "comes with it" is also extremly big.

We stayed at the hotel for 5 nights in a 2 bedroom suite. The suite contains a kithen, lounge area, generous balcony, 2 good sized bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Perfect for a young family or group of 4.

The location is really good as every room has sea views. It is about a 5 minute drive from the Waterfront and 5 minutes from the popular beaches.

Service was generally very good and the hotel was very clean.

The only negative is that the rooms are looking a bit old and tired. Furniture is a bit dated and the carpets in the hallway could be replaced. I would not rate this a 5 star hotel. it is more in the 4 star range.

Ultimately, we would stay there again. Value for money is very good.

We just spent six nights at the Peninsula in Sea Point and were very happy overall. I've stayed here a few times, and it seems very consistent across the years. The highlights are spacious rooms, a great location, the free shuttle, and mostly very friendly staff. We did find that the rooms were looking just a bit tired and in need of a bit of a makeover. Also, the beds weren't the greatest and should be replaced. One of their biggest challenges is parking, but the staff said they might find an alternative soon. Our rate included breakfast which was quite good every day - a huge selection and good quality. Lastly, it wasn't a very cheap option, but just felt better than staying in a cramped hotel room which may be cheaper. We like this place and knowing what we are getting ahead of time is comforting. Would recommend to others.
