Hotel is in a great location for city centre (15 min walk from Long St), Waterfront (10 min walk) with a bus stop right outside to get the bus to a great beach (10 mins to Clifton beach). The room was very spacious with fridge and cooking facilities. Free WIFI and, whilst we didn't get this, you can get breakfast included, which had a good selection. Staff were very helpful and friendly. We arrived very early on arrival and left late on departure; they were very accommodating in giving us the "spare room". We would recommend this for a few nights or, as we did, 8 nights stay. The pool is very small and VERY cold, but OK to take a dip to cool down whilst having a beer.

Room Tip: We were in room 77 and it had a view to the Table mountain, but no balcony. If you can, get a room facing front with a balcony, even if you are on Main Rd.

Dear Stephen M

Thank you for taking the time to post a review.

Location is one our strongest assets and the option of self catering is a big plus for many our GUESTS.

Sorry the pool was a bit "cool". We Capetonians don't generally brave the pool until December. We find our European visitors much more used to the cold!

We hope to welcome you back to the Protea Hotel Cape Castle.

Kind Regards
David Wilson Poe

Suites super, guys on the desk were very helpful. Good location near v&a waterfront.
Watch where you park if visiting table mountain as we were scammed and ending up with R300 parking penalty. Left sour taste of south african hospitality.

We've been Protea gold card members for a few years and we've been to just about every single Protea hotel What a pleasant surprise it was to visit Cape Castle. It is the best value for your money, spacious rooms, extremely central and well located, friendly staff. What more can I say? We are going back there next weekend! Defnitely the best experience I've had with Protea Hotels so far.

I really enjoyed my stay in this studio hotel. My room was on the 9th floor and the views from the balcony were stunning. My room consisted of a lounge-dining room-kitchen, a bedroom and a full bathroom. The rooms are tastefully decorated, the food in the restaurant is tasty, the wine by the glass is not the usual plonk, the bed comfy and the feeling of space and general well-being are enhanced by the pool deck and rim flow pool. All in all a very pleasant place indeed!

I was in Capetown in Jan-Feb 2012 and stayed in Cape Castle for around 2 weeks. I took the 1BHK apartment room. I must say the room tidyness and facilities were quite nice. You can cook also since there were ample of utensils for use. My room was facing the waterfront and hence had some nice scenic view from the balcony of my room. There is a swimming pool also where you can spend some time and sip some beers in the adjacent cafe.

Overall, i would recommend it to business as well as leisure travelers.

Room Tip: Choose the one facing the waterfront.
