The stay at this hotel was entirely spoilt by the bad attitude of the staff. The room was adequate and as we had paid bottom rand for this online was appropriate for what we paid. When we wanted to extend for 1 day they doubled the rate and were very rude about it. when we checked online a couple of hours later it was cheaper than what we had originally paid. No wonder they cannot get normal rates for this hotel nor can they afford to hire decent staff!

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else!

The Cape Town Lodge is an excellent choice for reasonably-priced accommodation in central Cape Town. The breakfast was plentiful and the clientele was a mix of tourists and colourfully-dressed African business people. There's an excellent steak restaurant on the premises. The rooms are large and though they aren't super luxurious, they are comfortable and have everything you need. Our room had a great view of Table Mountain. The area is good. There are many restaurants options within easy walking distance. The colourful Bokaap neighbourhood is just across the street. Hotel parking is a bargain. We would definitely stay here again.

Good accommodation with all your basic needs met.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Pool is quite small.
It didn't blow me away however taking into account the cost of our stay I would give an overall rating of average/good.

We were staying in Cape Town for a few days and this hotel was just right for our visit. It wasn't the most luxurious but it was everything that was needed.

The breakfast was good and it was around a 20 minute walk from the V&A waterfront.

Service and staff were very helpful and accommodating for booking and arranging travel requirements.

We stayed for 2 nights and found the hotel very comfortable and convenient. The room was large and well appointed. The area was a bit noisy in the early morning . The staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel is good value for money.

This Hotel is well located and have a decent value for money. The breakfast is good, when asked for an omelette I've been immediately attended. You need walk 20 min to arrive to V&A waterfront but it is safe to walk in this way. The AC was noisy and the room have only a door to an internal terrace that could not be used. I didn't visit the swimming pool.

Room Tip: Ask for external rooms and don't accept internal one on the 6th floor

I stayed at the Cape Town Lodge Hotel for six nights in December 2013 while attending a conference.
The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance to major attractions.
The views from my room where stunning. The rooms are very spacious, with comfortable beds.
Breakfast is excellent, but a bit repetitive. The gym is small, but usually, there aren't many people there, so it doesn't really matter. The pool is a bit of a puddle- but as long as a quick cool off with a nice view is enough, it serves its purpose. Don't expect to be able to swim laps, though.
The staff is very attentive and helpful, as was the driver who took me back to the airport. The food at the restaurant is excellent, and the bar wells stocked.
I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel.
