I stayed in this hotel for five nights in September, the place is clean, room is spacious, breakfast is good, however the locations is probably not the best in Cape Town. It is not a place for night walk around.. We basically used the hotel's taxi station for transportation and it was secure. I would say it is good value for money. Take into consideration that there is a computer for guests but the internet hardly works.

This is a small hotel, not very fancy, but with extremely friendly and very helpful staff. Very nice Italian restaurant too, serving breakfast and home made pasta dishes.
Just 2 blocks away from the Hop-Off Bus.
Possibly the best place in Capetown at this rate.

Antonio and the entire staff at the Parliament were spectacularly friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and spotless. My colleague and I were exhausted after two weeks with students in South Africa. We crashed at the Parliament while preparing for two more weeks of travel and felt entirely rejuvenated. We ended up staying three nights because we didn't want to leave!
This hotel offers excellent food any time of the day (breakfasts are made-to-order and spectacular). The Parliament is in easy walking distance to Long Street, shopping, and anything else we needed. I plan to return to South Africa soon, and I will never stay anywhere else in Cape Town!

I stayed at the Parliament Hotel for 3 nights in November 2012 & would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relatively inexpensive hotel in a quiet & safe location close to the downtown shopping & business district. Although the guest rooms are fairly basic, the hotel was spotlessly clean & the hot buffet breakfast, included in the room rate, was delicious. The staff were friendly & helpful & the Manager, Antonio, gave me some excellent advise about sightseeing in Cape Town & made a couple of bookings for me. I felt very relaxed at the parliament Hotel & wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Great few days here - not much chance to sleep but the room was large, comfortable and pleasant; staff were fantastic, couldn't do enough to help without be annoying which is a skill. Lovely breakfast and great location - nice walk to Long Street and the main shopping district.
