My friend and I visited Cape Town South Africa to celebrate his 50th Birthday. Our stay at the Radisson Blu was great. The room was nice with an ocean view. The staff was very friendly and attentive and although we had a few minor issues, things was resolved to our satisfaction thanks to Paul van den Broeck of Guest Relations.

We it was my first time going to Africa and I decide to to try Radisson Blu because of the good reviews. The hotel did not let me down except for a little hiccups from where taken care of. I would recommend getting your tranfers throught the hotel because i used British Airways and they left us stranded at the Airport but thanks to Aubery( shuttle bus driver) he was nice to help get in touch with our hotel and have someone pick us up! I must say the hotel was nice and the staff was friendly which helped being in a country we never been to before. Getting to hiccups we had a few which dealt mainingly with mis comunication but i will say PAUL VAN DEN BROECK (capetown.guestrelations@radissonblu.com) the Guest Relations person straighten or made up for the hiccups. He is the best if you have any questions about any thing seek him out! If you want a great room with great pick room #309! In long run everybody on staff was well liked by us too many names to be named and made you feel like family! God willing I will return hopefully get the same room :>)!

Room Tip: Business class 309-301 side whether on 2nd, 3rd or 4th floors have in my opinion best views!

A very special trip to Cape Town was made even better by the outstanding service from the team at the Radisson Blu. From the check in, through concierge, to the bar staff and restaurant waiters and all of the maid staff I have never been met and greeted by such a polite and outstanding bunch. The food was of a high quality, be it a bar snack, breakfast or a main meal. We stayed in one of the standard rooms and itwas spotlessly clean and a very good size. It had a magnificent view over Cape Town Stadium towards Table Mountain. The only minor criticism, the windows are single glazed and if you have a rear facing room such as ours the noise from the courtyard was quite loud. However that is one very small quibble with an otherwise truly outstanding experience. The position is ideal overlooking Table bay where we were able to enjoy breakfast on the terrace and watch dolphins in the bay. The V&A is a short 10 minute walk away or if you are feeling lazy there is a complimentary shuttle every hour.

Room Tip: A room with an ocean view would be quieter

This hotel is extremely well situated for accessing the ammenities at the Waterfront and close enough to drive to Hout Bay, the Southern Suburbs or even Century City. Excellent staff who are friendly, welcoming and will go out of their way to assist with anything you need.

My partner and I moved from the Bay Hotel, Camps Bay, to the Radisson as we had decided to split our visit to Cape Town between the beach and the Waterfront/Centre. What a disappointment. Where the Bay was relaxed and friendly, the Radisson was corporate and cold. Where breakfast at the Bay was freshly cooked to order, the Radisson offered pre-cooked (omlettes and eggs apart) - sometimes under or over cooked, and no personal service whatsoever. On arrival - 1.30pm on a Saturday - we were offered a 'side sea-view' room. Well, yes, if you stood by a window you did have a view. However, the bed dominated the badly configured room and space was very limited. We had to speak to 4 different members of staff, before asking to speak to someone who could authorise a room change. Finally, Chrissy - Sales and Marketing arrived and the problem was resolved, but she advised of additional charges. When I pointed out the hotel's own motto of "100 satisfaction guaranteed - or we will pay the difference" she quickly backtracked. Only Paul, Guest Relations Manager came out of this with any credit. He did do his best for us and later sorted out trips to Stellenbosch and restaurant recommendations. As this was also a birthday treat - the Bay had sent us fruit, cake and bubbly, the Radisson offered exactly nothing at all. The location is fine, a free shuttle to the nearby Waterfront, an excellent Spa, but overall, our trip was spoilt by the attitude of the reception staff and management. When visiting again, we would not stay at this hotel, but we will be back at the Bay!

Room Tip: Make sure you specify your requirements and avoid rooms overlooking the car park.

Dear Laurence_Kevin,

Thank you for taking the time to share your disappointment, during your recent stay with us.

Firstly please accept our sincerest apologies for missing your partner’s birthday – we have clearly failed to deliver on the standard that we at pride ourselves on. I can assure you that your experience is certainly not at all typical to our establishment, and has been noted addressed with all involved.

With regards to the room you mentioned in this review, A standard room was booked and we ensured you a complimentary upgrade to a superior room with partial sea view over a very busy Easter weekend period.

Thank you once again for providing us with your constructive feedback and we certainly hope that we will have the opportunity to welcome you back in the not too distant future.

Best regards

My family and I enjoyed our stay at this lovely hotel. Excellent service and very friendly staff. They were always ready to make us comfortable. We requested the mountain views when we arrived and our rooms were changed to accommodate our request. Very convenient location and easy to get to the V & A with the shuttle bus . Delicious breakfast with variety of fruits.

My husband and I stayed here for the second part of our honeymoon. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The views are beautiful and the location was extremely convenient. The breakfast was amazing as there were so many choices. Free WIFI made this an even better stay! I would recommend this hotel to everyone.
