“Good but could be better”
Reviewed 13 May 2014

Stayed here for 3 nights for a trade show. I was assigned by the organiser to this hotel.

Pros:
- free wifi which overall work well.
- decent room which unfortunately faced the drive way. Was informed all the seaview room were sold out. Get the seaview rooms if you can afford it. The view is worth it!
- decent gym
- ordered room service 3 times and it was all good and value for money for a hotel standard.
- staff - most professional and friendly

Cons:
- Housekeeping - clean but not consistence through out the 3 days.
- Location - attending a trade show not too idea. For vacation - fine. They do have a reliable hourly free shuttle service that drop off and picks up at the V&A till 11pm, if I remember correctly.
- Breakfast restaurant - overall service and food was good but cannot understand why they pull all the blinders down, even on a cloudy day. When I ask for it to be open, at least I can enjoy the ocean view on that cloudy morning, the waitress said she need to get approval from her supervisor, who said no. I was taken a back when she then said I would need to talk to General Manager, if I insisted. I then said ok, I would like to speak to the GM. The waitress disappeared and never returned.

Overall a good hotel that could have been better.

Room Tip: Get a seaview room if you can afford to pay the extra. It is worth it!

Following on from a cruise to Cape Town last month, arrived from the ship to check-in a little ahead of schedule. Reception staff were very helpful and managed to get our room ready very quickly. Thereafter all staff in all departments were very friendly, helpfull and couldn't do emough to make our stay very relaxing and enjoyable. This hotel had been a recommendation from a native South African we had met earlier in the year. Was not a disappointment. Very near the V & A waterfront and easy to get to all main areas of Cape Town. Would not hesitate to return. Well done to everyone.

With free shuttle service to waterfront, friendly staff, good food, location - its a very good deal. The view of the table mountain from the terrace bar and restaurant is spectacular. The parking is at a nominar charge of 50 Rant per night but do mind the steep slope of the ramp. It led to a scratch on my rented car leading to a significant charge.

We have returned home having spent three days there. We have stayed in many top class hotels worldwide, including Radisson, and have never been made so welcome or felt so at home. From check in to check out, a terrific experience.
Our corner room on top floor (of 4) was very spacious, as was the triangular outside space with two sunbeds, two chairs and a small table and still plenty of room to walk about. Gorgeous views over Table Bay and down the coast in the other direction. Soooo comfy bed and lots of seating.
All the staff wore genuine smiles and nothing was too much trouble. The restaurant had a good choice and the standard was very good. Only downside was it was a bit chilly where we were sat in the evening but breakfast time was very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent with a very good choice. We also used room service and same standard and food piping hot.
The hourly shuttle service to the Waterfront shops and restaurants only took five minutes and ran precisely on time both ways. Door staff were very friendly and helpful as all the other staff were and all in all we felt very pampered. We would certainly stay here again if we return any time to Cape Town.

Room Tip: We were top floor corner 404. Great views and fell asleep to the sound of the waves. Lots of sunshin...

Due to flight delays, we arrived at the Raddison Blu a day late and had to wait a further 24 hours for our luggage to arrive. I was on crutches and in pain, my Wife and Children were extremely tired and fed up, as all we had with us were the clothes on our back. This was not the best possible start to our holiday in South Africa.
From the minute we arrived at the hotel at 11pm, we were completely bowled over by the way we were looked after. Our clothes were taken away by housekeeping and washed and were returned to us the following morning so that we had something clean to wear.
During Breakfast, Brett, one of the hotels senior managers came and introduced himself to us and told us that if there was anything the hotel could help us with then we should not hesitate to ask. This set the tone for the rest of our stay at the Raddison Blu and the levels of service we received were truly amazing. Nothing was too much trouble for the hotels staff and their attention to detail was remarkable. From the porters at the front door, to the pool and bar staff, housekeepers and restaurant team. Everyone was extremely friendly, professional and well trained which made our stay comfortable as well as memorable. The business class suite we stayed in was spacious, spotlessly clean, beautifully furnished and had fantastic views of the Indian Ocean and Robben Island. We saw dolphins and seals each day during our stay.
Although this is our 9th holiday to Cape Town, we have never stayed at the Raddison Blu before but we will be booking again for 2015.
I would personally like to thank Deborah, Brett, Paul and their team for turning round what was a disastrous start to our holiday into one of our most memorable,
We cant wait to go back.

We stayed for 3 nights and it was a great stay from first to last. Fast, efficient checkin, delightful ocean view room, comfortable beds, and most importantly - quiet. Considering it was Easter the service was prompt, professional and courteous. We made full use of the shuttle bus with its friendly and efficient driver but on one occasion we walked to V&A and it took us 8 minutes leisurely walk. We dined in the hotel 2 nights; the food and service were excellent as was the breakfast. I can't really think of anything that would have contributed more to our stay.

Room Tip: We were on the 4th Floor, corner room with nice ocean and esplanade view. Didn't hear a sound f...
